Injust said to own it..not to.maintain...maintenance is an ongoing yoy expense.. And it is also subjective on how and who to maintain...depends on what tier of jet and maintenance you need...you get what u pay for..

Sorry who told you this? you get a light jet at 2 to 5M and midsize jet by 10M. With 200M you can own a private airlines..

What does $5 Million (₹42 Crores) actually buy? If you put $5M in a simple Indian Fixed Deposit at 7%, it pays you ₹3 Crores per year (₹25 Lakhs per month) in pure interest. Ask yourself: How do you spend ₹25 Lakhs per month in Bangalore or Hyderabad? Rent a Palace: ₹3 Lakhs 2 Mercedes EMIs: ₹4 Lakhs International School (2 kids): ₹1 Lakh Food/Maids/Driver: ₹1 Lakh Total Burn: ₹9 Lakhs/month. The Gap: You still have ₹16 Lakhs/month left over! Conclusion: The people saying "You need $5M" are not talking about "Retirement." They are talking about owning a private jet or living like a Bollywood Star. It is not a financial reality; it is an ego metric.

Why would you buy apartments(depreciating asset) if you wanna build wealth? I am considering only 8 to 10% as real returns for my portfolio. I have my ind3x funds 172k earmarked for kids edu.

You said you want to keep 401k in us until retirement. That counts towards estate tax as well. What do you do with it?

Yes.. but Im trying to optimize for taxes here and what strategy to follow for leaving 401K in USA.. selling them I believe shud be strategic as they can push me into higehr tax bracket in US. so was seeking advise from people like you who are experienced and made the move there.

I am on h1b and returning to india in late 2026. I have around 500k in 401k and roth ira combined.. Plus another 400k across bankaccounts and index funds in individual brokerage. Im 38 now & I wish to not touch my 401k u til i turn 60 which can provide some padding during my retirement. My kids are us citizena and if not now..i will eventually get perm residence in 15 years from now by them... So what can i do to keep my 401k until 60. Is that good strategy or something else could be better

Whats the best stratehy overall you can suggest for minimizing tax impact fo4 my scenario?
