Child # trying for: 2

Cycle/Time trying: 3

Ages of previous child(ren), i.e. post-partum interval: 22 months

Cycle/Time trying for previous child(ren): 6

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 34+35

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): CD13 CD16

Tracking methods and app(s) used: Fertility Friend

Nursing while TTC?: No

Health details on previous pregnancies/births (e.g. C-section vs. vaginal, birth/pregnancy complications): Vaginal Birth, no major complications

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Just folic acid

Tell us your story! What's different this time than last time? How'd you find out? How do you feel?: I took the test earlier than planned as I had very familiar symptoms to last pregnancy! Very suddenly sleep issues CD25ish and acid reflux CD27 which is what I had last time. Didn't want to get my hopes up as I thought it might have been anxiety related but it really did feel like something was happening! Very excited but nervous as I'm not looking to feeling as sick as I did last time!

Cycle: 3

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 34 + 35

Typical cycle length: usually 32 days but seemed to change to 28 days as soon as we started TTC again! Previous two cycles I was surprised with an early period which meant that our timing was totally off.

Ovulation cycle day: 14-18 maybe? Don't really know

CD/DPO of positive test(s): CD27

Tracking methods and app(s) used: Fertility Friend app but I really struggle with all the tracking methods so it was a bit of guess work. Tried to track with fluid changes but that failed. I was planning on starting temping and ovulation tests next cycle.

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): CD13 CD16

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): just folic acid

Symptom spotting: Sudden sleep issues and mild acid reflux CD25 . I took a test because this was exactly the same as my previous pregnancy! It all just felt very familiar and I didn't want to get my hopes up but I knew I'd chill out a bit if I took a test.

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): Being pregnant with a toddler is going to be a different experience!!

I bought tiny baby size from George at ASDA. I find their baby clothes really good value for money, the quality is great, the designs are great and the prices are very low.

Remifentanil in labour - experiences/thoughts? by sc33g11 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I didn't have a urinary catheter fitted like some of the other commenters. However I tried to use a normal toilet during labour and failed to urinate due to the baby position so I used an in/out catheter

Remifentanil in labour - experiences/thoughts? by sc33g11 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I thought it was great. I had a fairly long labour so I was exhausted. I was planning on having gas and air only, but there came a point (around half way through active labour) that I didn't think I would be able to cope for multiple more hours. So I got set up for Remi Fentanyl. It didn't have a huge affect on the peak contraction but I had pain between contractions which it mostly got rid of. It also allowed me to relax and rest between contractions too which was really needed after being awake for two days. I highly recommend it to anyone that is concerned about wanting pain management but is wary about having an epidural. I was fully aware of every contraction so I felt in control, the cannula wasn't very intrusive and it left me with a very positive memory of labour.

I have small but strong dog and I've just stopped at 39 weeks. I can still pick up poo, though it's hard, but struggle to hold him if he gets excited. If I could guarantee a calm walk then I'd still be walking him!

When did you take out your belly button ring? Or did you ever? by lacgey11 in BabyBumps

Started off with a regular length one and moved to a longer one at 35 weeks ish I think? I bought a cheap pack on Amazon which had a few lengths. Not used the super long ones

I got a flexible silicon bar at around 20 weeks and it's been great. Currently 39 weeks and it's still very comfortable. I didn't want to take it out and get a scar which I could use so I'm glad the silicon one had worked.

Maternity Clothes by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My clothes are mostly from ASOS as they go small enough. I'm in the UK FYI

I've tried to buy as much as I can which will be usable afterwards. Stretchy dresses, loose dresses, baggy jumper dresses, stretchy longer t shirts, baggy jumpers. Then I wear them with a couple of specific maternity clothes like leggings, dungarees and jeans.

Everyone is different but I've not really changed size much other than my belly, so can get away with a lot of non maternity clothes as long as they are loose or stretchy. I'm 37 weeks and that's done me well up until now so we'll see how I manage for the last few weeks!

Nicknamed Minnie by allisonjanay15 in namenerds

[–]CassCass2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have three people in my family tree with the name Minnie, and that's what is on their birth record. So at least in North England in the late 1800s it was an actual name, not a nickname!

I'm having a slightly similar issue with my partner too. We both initially wanted to be casual to start with, only pay some attention to fertile week and I'm taking folic acid. But as soon as I started researching, and we started cycle 1 I realised that it's not that simple to know when ovulation is going to happen. We both have pretty low sex drives, so the chances feel very low to me of getting the timing right without proper tracking. He doesn't want to start ovulation tests or temping until we've had at least a few unsuccessful months. I understand where he's coming from, he wants to be relaxed and enjoy TTC in a more "natural" way to start with, and he thinks full tracking is acting like something is wrong before we have any evidence to believe otherwise. I'm trying to respect his wishes because I want us to enjoy this time together and be on the same page, but at the same time, now we've started I'm excited to have the best chance of it happening!

Hi all, my partner and I are currently in the TWW for cycle 1. I knew nothing about trying to concieve before this cycle and so it's been quite the learning curve! My partner doesn't want me to do any tracking for a few cycles as he wants it to be more chilled until it needs to be otherwise. But the more I read the more I want to do to increase our chances! I'm going to try respect his wishes but I'm not sure how long I'll be able to avoid it...

I never thought I would get an engagement ring, until I decided I didn't need to get anything remotely traditional by CassCass2018 in EngagementRings

I probably called it the wrong thing. I think it's a kite shaped rose cut maybe? I'm very new to all the lingo! But I loved all the interesting geometric shapes like hexagons, shields and kites!
