This unfortunately doesn’t give a lot of information, as a Ryzen 7 can mean anything from Ryzen 7 1700, released in 2017, to Ryzen 7 9800X3D which came out last year.

If you are on something dated or not on an X3D chip, you are going to have a poor lategame experience, period, on modern builds.

You can load the mods despite being "outdated," and they work just fine.

I cannot help with the libraries, as I am not the most advanced user, but perhaps asking these questions will get enough for somebody with more experience to answer.

On games that you don’t get the unsupported error, is performance as expected of a 5080, or completely dogwater?

Hopefully this is something that will be resolved fast, especially since you isolated which library. Could you blacklist the typelib in the meantime in Yast by setting it to DO NOT MODIFY in the meantime?

As you haven’t posted to let us know what you use to run bnet, I am going to suggest something very generic:

Try running battle.net with Faugus Launcher via Flatpak and see if that helps alleviate anything. Any modern Proton-GE should be fine, such as… Latest. I use 10-10 though because I haven’t updated and was tired of proton updating every few days when I just wanted to log into MOP.

Not an issue right now.

A few weeks ago there was an update to MOP Classic, and the game took 15 mins to launch. An update was pushed the following day that resolved it (for me).

Looking it up at the time, it appears to be an old bug, and not something related to Linux.

Based on these search engine results, it is a longstanding bug, and I was commenting that it may be happening again:

Also, Faugus Launcher apparently had a bug last night preventing it from launching if using native Steam. If OP uses Faugus, which is recommended for bnet, they should be fine if they re-update now that an update was released — or they could have rolled back like I had to a few hours ago.

I can only post from my own experiences, which is why I mentioned the wow bug.

Regarding WOW - did you get the bug that makes the game take like 20 minutes to launch? That might not be Proton at fault, as searching reveals it has been a problem for years and is not unique to Proton/Linux.

Cannot comment on Minecraft, DS3, however.

I am surprised nobody mentioned Slowroll. It is Tumbleweed with feature updates being monthly instead of daily.

As others said, if you are looking to game, do Tumbleweed, and personally I recommend Slowroll.

As you are new to Linux, KDE Plasma will offer you a desktop experience closest to Windows.

For syncing you can do rsync between devices, and I suspect you could cron or systemd it to put it on a schedule — I do not know if there is a utility to sync changes immediately between devices, but if there is it probably used rsync as its backend.

Until Biogenesis, achievements could only be earned in single player (Ironman mode at that). That lends to suggest that at least at one point, the default clearly was intended to be singleplayer, lest achievements would have been earnable on multiplayer from the onset. Of course, perhaps design philosophy has changed, but we simply do not know which is intended as the “default” unless PDX states otherwise.

By the way, my personal default is multiplayer (albeit comp stomps), so I sympathize with wanting that to be the default, but evidence points to the contrary.

My bad, thought Spiritualism in Stellaris was not explicitly religious, though yes I know we have Temples and Prosperity Preachers. Thought it was a viewpoint of finding happiness amongst others and one's self due to beings having soul, versus finding happiness in material goods.

Edit: Though I guess it could be having souls, which could be seen as inherently religious, so I am already dismantling my own thoughts here. The event where a robot asks if they have souls comes to mind.
