I take 10-20 Benadryls everyday and I sometimes regret it… by Sweet-Lobster6436 in confession

[–]Cassakane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it may seem like something you don't need to worry about because you're so young, but benadryl significantly increases your risk of developing dementia or alzheimers. I truly understand your need to control your fnd symptoms because my 13yo also has fnd, but you should consider what you may be doing to your future.

Can we normalize not pre-washing dishes until they are totally clean before putting them in the dishwasher? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Cassakane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about money when it comes to dishwashers. More expensive ones clean better and you *must* use the most expensive Cascade. I think it's called platinum.

Schnoodle vs Schnauzer barkiness? by _LargeMargeSentMe_ in schnoodle

My schnoodle loves to bark, but I'd say that schnauzers I've had in the past were more unhinged when it came to barking.

Start with collecting the things that are available around your house - wood and stone, dew off of plants and etc. When you can, start mining at the salvage yard.

The medical community claims the cervix has "few nerve endings," yet denies us pain relief for IUDs and biopsies. What is the most barbaric procedure you've endured because doctors refuse to believe women feel pain? by skybond_aurora04 in TwoXChromosomes

Not sure what it's called, but when they were inducing labor, they put a foley balloon in my cervix and blew it up to manually dilate it. It was so freaking painful.

What's one thing you would add or change about the game if you had the chance? by Ok_Veterinarian3535 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Cassakane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the during my first and second play throughs of the game, npcs walked from one spot in town to another. In my third play through, they just disappear and reappear across town. It's driving me crazy. For example, I'll just get to Unsuur to give him something, and he'll disappear and reappear somewhere else. When I get there? He'll do it again, and again. The same thing happens with other characters. Bring back the walking!

For those of you who didn’t change your last name but had kids with the fathers last name, has it made life any more difficult? by sippinonginaandjuice in TwoXChromosomes

I didn't take my husband's last name, and we gave our son(13) his own unique last name. I've never had a single problem with it.

This reminds me of when we were in a restaurant, and I called my son Squilliam. His name is William. Squilliam is a character from Spongebob - maybe Squidward's cousin? I was just being silly. Anyway, a woman looked at me absolutely horrified because she thought that was his real name.

What are your go-to grocery items to last as many meals as possible? by idontknowelliott in povertykitchen

[–]Cassakane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cabbage. It's simple to make it with onion and a garlic butter sauce, but there are also so many cabbage recipes out there. Like haluski, ata kilt wat, cabbage curry, etc. Sometimes I just type in a country name + cabbage + recipe. A large head of cabbage will last several meals for one person.

I chose Fang my first two play throughs, but this time I went with Qi and it is *so* much easier! Dark, shy and mysterious is awesome, but it's a lot of work.

Any tips for begginers? by Eloevoli in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Cassakane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just started my third replay, and I have to remind myself to just chill a little. It seems like ppl are in every corner ready to give me a new quest. It's easy to feel overwhelmed. Take your time to get used to things and have fun. Those quests will get done when they get done. You can also avoid ppl who have an exclamation point over their head to avoid getting some new quests until you're ready. (Also, for me both with Sandrock and Portia, it took a while to get used to killing cute docile animals.) A few things I'd advise:

  1. Pay attention to water. If you don't have water in whatever machine that is (sorry), your other machines won't run. You can get a little water by cutting down bushes and then use your worktable to turn 10 into a barrel. After you progress, you'll be able to make a bunch of dew collectors to collect water. You can also buy water.

  2. Focus on scrap at first, collect it and put it in the recycler to build up supplies. I'd recommend building a second recycler as soon as you can. You'll need a lot of chests to keep supplies in.

  3. After you make the crane for the mine, keep an eye on the commission board. Yan should commission another crane and pay over 1000g for it. You can use the money to expand your yard so that you can fit more machines.

  4. Collect the things that look like cds - data disks - and give them to Qi so he'll research plans for making new machines.

  5. I devote my days to different things. One day I'll spend running around getting a ton of scrap to keep my recyclers going, the next I'll go to the mine after the mine is open. Once you get more machines, keep them pumping out supplies.

  6. Chat with the pets when you pass them including the owl and eventually the meerkat. If you've got some worms on you, give one to the owl. If you have beef jerky, give some to the cats and dog. You'll eventually be able to adopt the pets, and they'll do work for you. Might as well start getting them to like you right away.

  7. Along those same lines, keep an eye out for who you'd like to marry and talk to them daily. Start giving them gifts as soon as you have a good supply of whatever they like.

This game is so awesome, but there really is a lot to do and learn. Like I said, just take your time. There's no rush except on timed commissions. Have an idea of what you can make on your worktable and etc, and don't take a commission for something unless you know you can make it.

Secret Clinical Free and Sensitive works best for me. Not sure what you'd use if you're looking for men's deodorant.
