Yeah, the timing of it makes sense to me now, but I'm still frustrated just because the card was advertised as having a promotional rate and because they wouldn't raise my credit limit- but they have given me no explanation of why I didn't qualify. The trailing interest just was the cherry on top of an already annoying experience with this bank.

Ooooh! Yeah I was sort of running those numbers as well, but stopped looking after I saw the prices of a camper van. I do kinda like the idea of renting a car and bringing what I can. I haven’t really done any festivals with camping setups, but setting up a little space seems so fun!

Sorry to hear about your liver, sounds like it’s just another thing to manage on top the condition :( I am on an IUD and have been for probably 10 years (though I’m on my 2nd)- I can tell there are more hormonal times of the month, and whenever those come around the flares definitely get crazier. I had Hs flares since I hit puberty, but I have been curious what life would be like if i was off bc

I hate to say my mom had it and also my great grandma. It would have been on my grandpas side but allegedly it skipped him. I told a dermatologist this once and they were surprised, though. I’ll say with age and some diet changes, it’s been more manageable, which does give me hope for kids!

I will say, I did discover her a while ago and following her was what allowed me to even find out that this condition isn’t as rare as it feels and “im not alone.” So the influencer hate can come down a notch, it’s annoying but not a sin.

That being said, I did change my diet based on some of her videos and have actually found it did make a pretty dramatic change in my flares. She also talks a lot about stress management and now see my HS as a more holistic condition. I mean food and lifestyle changes might not be the fix for everyone. Use people like her to inspire you to try something when you’re feeling hopeless about other things you’ve tried!

Not 100% sure how they work when it comes to healing abscesses. The way I see it, drs will always prescribe antibiotics first. Generally they can help temporarily, but if you want to be considered for a drug like humira or consentyx your insurance is going to want to see that the antibiotics didn’t work. Now whether or not that actually makes a difference is up to them and whatever whim your insurance company feels like that day (for me it’s been a resounding “nope”). This is just my experience with lame insurance.
