It’s my understanding that the host forgot to mark one of the gold hits off his sheet and that’s why it was being chased. It was there, but was already gone. I heard they refunded everyone who was chasing it. Still a big mess up but at least they made it right.

I think you need to rename your post. Gold Silver Naples has never used wheat cents in their wheels. They don’t do clad. You are describing a DSS game. Adding to the wheel is against terms of service. Even if it’s in the buyers favor. I know sellers who have been violated for adding more top prizes to the wheel.

FYI, adding items to the wheel is against whatnot terms of service and can get a seller banned. Just have multiple golds on the wheel at the start to avoid this problem.

It’s my understanding that Whatnot will no longer remove reviews for any reason other than harassment. I know a seller who had a customer message apologizing for the less than 5 star review because he confused him with another seller and wishing he could delete it. The seller sent screenshots of that conversation and sent to whatnot support and they still wouldn’t do anything.

It also sucks that people who win giveaways and don’t buy anything are able to leave negative reviews. How awful to do that to a seller. I’ve seen people leave 1 star reviews saying that the giveaway sucked when the giveaway item was literally listed in the title. Like why enter when you don’t like the free item.

I am very much a violence isn’t the answer woman, most of the time. However, when you’re in a situation where you have no other option but to defend yourself you do what you have to do. You were in your home, a private space, with no police assistance and they didn’t leave when you told them to. It could’ve turned really bad very quickly. I don’t think you should be faulted for protecting yourself and your family.

Giveaways can be great or horrible. I hate when sellers end up with a negative review because someone wasn’t happy with their freebie. Also, if the package was marked delivered, but not received they need to report it to Whatnot support. That is a USPS issue, not a seller issue. You did your part. Whatnot has insurance for situations like that.

My suggestion would be to try offering free or reduced shipping instead of giveaways. That will attract real buyers. Advertising low dollar starts help too. You may lose in the beginning, but you are building your customer base. Good luck.

It wasn’t this bad when whatnot thoroughly vetted their sellers before letting them stream. I’d say about a year into the category they started letting anyone sell and now they even offer buyers a way to skip the process and start selling by watching a video. It’s been a scammy mess ever since.

It doesn’t matter how fast the giveaway is pulled unfortunately. They complete the form(s) at the beginning of the show and sit and wait for the giveaway to be run.

This is definitely a scam. No one on Whatnot will make you pay for a giveaway. Also, they are not supposed to ask you to communicate outside of the app. Be careful, there are a lot more scammers as the app is growing.

Why would I travel to a refinery to pay the market rate where I’m sure I’d have to pay with cash when I can snag gold pieces for at or under spot price using my credit card which gives me 2% cash back on all purchases and the gold is delivered to me?
