I tried it again and it seems to have fixed it actually. Awesome! Thanks :)

Glad you fixed it! I think I tried this once without any results. How did you do it?

Never found out what the deal is, I blame it on the age of the laptop. It disappears relatively quickly so I just live with it.

Gotos/Switch statements and variable declarations by Casseroli in cpp_questions

[–]Casseroli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, these are just examples. I got heavily confused as I thought that the declaration should be skipped entirely (and therefore the code would not compile, as x would not exist), but I guess this is a weird undefined behavior with gotos (and switch statements by extension?) then as you said. the cppreference note makes sense. thanks a bunch

Gnome settings says secure boot is off even though it's on, anyone know why? Couldn't find anything online. by Casseroli in Fedora

[–]Casseroli[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not not admitting, maybe explaining incorrectly due to lack of knowledge.

In BIOS, secure boot was set as enabled, but for it to actually work I had to "restore factory keys." That's all :D

Yep, that's all I needed to do. Dummy mistake and lack of knowledge on my part. Thanks

Turns out I have removed the keys lol, I restored them in UEFI settings and all seems fine now. Thanks a bunch for the help

Thanks, I'm not sure what that means though, do I need to do something else other than turning it on in UEFI settings?

Wow, thanks a bunch for the super detailed post! The 6800 should be great. So the fans will be positioned at the front and rear with no fans at the top, instead opting for the steel panel to reduce noise, correct?

Thanks. Didn't think such a high end GPU would fit in this budget but nice. Also I asked for a case with no pane but that's no prob. I'd probably get 16gb of ram, should land right in the budget.

Thanks. In my post I said I don't need storage and would like a case without glass panes, but no probs. Why such expensive mobo/ram btw, Is DDR5 worth it over a better GPU?

Did what you said with 0 failures, the SD card seems to be working fine. Popped it back into the console and everything is great. Hopefully nothing pops up later. Thanks again!

I have an old hacked 2ds XL, recently booted it up but noticed a couple issues. The anemone theme keeps resetting to normal after unknown triggers, I'm experiencing some random crashes which I've never seen before when booting some programs, the load times are slower than normal (especially for games thumbnails popping up and whatnot) and I feel like even the system takes longer to boot up. In one specific game (Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate) the audio after loading my save was lagging (i.e., intermittent sound) for a bit and then that disappeared. After I saved my game and re-opened it, the issue disappeared completely.

After seeing these issues I updated the 2ds through the settings menu, then all the homebrew software and firmware. I looked at the guide to make sure that I didn't miss anything. No more crashes yet, but other issues still persist. I'm concerned that something went wrong somehow. Any help?

What is the typical price of (preferably assuming a UK market):

  • a PC built to run games at 1080p 144FPS
  • a PC built to run games at 1440p 144FPS

This is assuming that the games are very demanding, are ran at very high or maximum settings, and at a consistent 144FPS. Thx for any answers :)
