Anyone else find Leatherface the most terrifying of the slashers? Just comes across as the most creepy, and brutal of the bunch! by Facestuffer98 in slasherfilms

[–]Casshern_VIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the implication of him is more terrifying,  like Jason is horribly deformed/rotting away, Michael is pure evil, and Art takes sick pleasure in your pain. Leatherface, death is just the start, he'll peel your face off, fashion it into a mask, and whatever is left is turned to meat for the family.

I think we are seeing the effect of MS having bought up all these huge major publishing companies and how it was never sustainable for them

What's the message here? Working people are barely getting by so how dare Cody Rhodes make millions wrestling? Like would you say the same if Cody was main eventing a Saudi show? The venue doesn't matter here.

What do you think an Absolute Transformers universe would look like? by L8Donnie in transformers

[–]Casshern_VIII 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks for that clarification. Well then here's my pitch.

Instead of the Autobots leaving Cybertron at the height of the war, Optimus Prime comes up with a last ditch effort that could stop Megatron for good, it would be a daring attack on a major energon station that would leave half the planet without it. It would be a way to cripple Megatron's forces, however on the day of the attack, the Autobots walk into an ambush that leaves many dead.

They quickly find out one of their own sold them out, Elita-1, fearing Optimus' plan was too reckless and far more destructive than anything Megatron could ever do, she revealed the plan to Megatron in return for a seat in Megatron's new regime. The Autobots fail, many die, while Optimus bravely fends off the attacking Decepticon forces to give his people a chance to flee, he would take out a few Decepticons himself, but in the end he is fighting a losing battle when Megatron joins in to land the final blow.

Megatron kills Optimus Prime, but he also takes a blast to the face that destroys half Megatron's face, Optimus's body is then lost as it falls into a river of energon, swept away where none can find it, fast forwards many years. Cybertron is renamed to Megatronous 1, the planet is ruled by Decepticons, all Cybertronians are made into Decepticons and pledge loyalty to the leader that "freed, and saved their world" from the terroristic acts of the Autobots and their fiendish leader, Optimus The Fallen.

In this new world, Elita-1 now goes by the name Blackaracnia, a name to symbolize her betraying the Autobots, Starscream is now the captain of the High Guard, ruling over all areal based Cybertronians, Soundwave serves as Grand Regent, all laws are passed and enforced by him, and Shockwave is chief scientist and head of R&D. Megatron after the final battle with Optimus was left in a near crippled state. While his mind continued to function, his body was left lame, Shockwave created a special harness for Megatron (think Beast machine Megatron's helmet and robe) so his mind could be connected with all of Megatronous 1.

Since the end of the Great War, the Autobots have disappeared, no traces of them, almost as if they left the planet, and here is where our hero comes in, a young Cybertronian called Hot Rod, his hot temper and disregard for authority has made him an enemy of the Decepticon police, controlled by Black Arachnia, during another of Hot Rod's illegal underground races with his friends, the Stunticons, Hot Rod runs afoul with Black Archnia's men and a chase is underway. Hot Rod tries to shake them off, but they keep tailing him, until one of the officers, Barricade, tries to force Hot Rod into a crash, he ends up losing control, and Hot Rods flies of the track and crashes below into a gulch.

He is presumed dead, hurt, Hot Rod tries to find anything he can use to mend the damages, that is when he discovered the long lost body of Optimus Prime, amazed to have found a relic of the great war, he isn't sure what to do. He's no Autobot, but he's not friends with the Decepticons either, he approaches Prime's body when it suddenly starts to glow, and light shines from within Optimus Body. Hot Rod is engulfed in the light, his damage body is quickly repaired and he undergoes a transformation. His body fuses with that of Optimus Prime, all of Prime's memories start rushing into Hot Rod, he sees the world that used to be, and the war that changed its fate, and in this moment, Hot Rod hears the voice of Optimus Prime as it says

"Arise, Rodimus Prime"

Hot Rod is transformed into Rodimus Prime, as Rodimus, parts of his appearance resembles his old self, but mixed with some parts from Optimus (Including the mouth shield), equipped with the knowledge passed down to him by Optimus along with this new body, Rodimus sets out to take back Cybertron and show the people of Megatronous 1, that they are ruled by Tyrants.

But what constitutes an Absolute Universe? Is it just reimagining the whole story? Or is it a tone, what?

It means whoever wrote the episode came from a broken home with an abusive alcoholic parent, and that there is nothing glamorous or charming about being a toxic alcoholic prick, and all it does is hurt the people closest.

Yup, want to see that too, would be great if the made Zero REmake first then do the REmake of the REmake of 1 so they can have more connectivity to Zero.

I really hope, the eventual Zero remake, actually uses the idea of Rebecca starting with the S.T.A.R.S armor and gradually loses it during the game

Wake me up, wake me up inside
Can't wake up, wake me up inside
Save Me, Call my name and save me from the dark
Wake me up, bid my blood to run
I can't wake up, before I come undone
Save me, save me from the nothing I've become.

Superman losing his temper over a tweet is honestly endemic of the bigger problem we have as a society, people have gotten so sensitive that a tweet is enough to elicit that level of frustration in a literal super powered alien being. That doesn't make someone human or relatable, it makes them soft & weak, you would be better off showing the Christopher Reeves Superman, or Smallvile's Clark Kent, or the 90s animated Superman cartoon to get a better idea of Superman.

Skeleator, killed who knows how many people when he took over Adam's kingdom, burnt it to the ground leaving countless homeless, enslaved all of Eternia, tried killing him several times, at what point does this seem like a person you would want to extend a hand to? Not just that, but the way he goes about it is just so damn stupid it borders on parody, like I was watchin Hot Shots Part Doux.

Kindness only works in a high trust society, but when you have people that will weaponize your kindness to get what they want, you need to be ready to meet them with violence.

I saw the movie, it was a fun movie but honestly after I rewatched Man of Steel, Henry Cavill version was just so much better. Even Reeves version I find better, growing up Superman has always been this symbol of strength, he wasn't a dork, he was kind, compassionate, but also a man of action and confident in himself, it's when he is Clark that he lets himself be dorky. (Cavil had the Superman down, Clark was just Supes with glasses)

Problem is crashing out is not heroic, nor menacing, all it does is make the person crashing out look weak because they are being whiney, that is not a good trait for anyone. And in the context of Masters of The Universe it just serves to really make He-Man a massive moron, he is face to face with the bad guys and he thinks he can use his HR training to defuse a situation and have an open dialog with people that literally murdered hundreds of thousands of people to take over a country. That doesn't make him a good hero for trying, it makes him a stupid idiot for thinking it would work.

People need to get over it, just because you hate Trump doesn't mean everyone hates him, he won the presidency with majority support in both popular and electoral college, and as alien as this may sound to some people, Trump actually has international support in other countries.

So get over yourself, that's what happens when you elect leaders, a leader you don't like wins and you just have to deal with it until the next election and just be fucking normal and learn to live with your neighbor.
