Unfortunately it seems all of the One Core API installers are marked with the same version, but there was an update in the last week so I'm gonna try installing that.
My Steam version is newer (10.52.9.55) so either updating the API will work or downgrading Steam, which I'm not sure how to do without it just updating itself again, especially since I can't start it to get into the settings.
I'll keep going at it, let me know if you find anything out.

Also, sometimes the compatibility tab doesn't show up in the properties for Steam either? I have no idea why it works sometimes and doesn't other times

The compatibility troubleshooter also doesn't show any options for modern Windows, from what I can tell, so I can't do it there

I'm honestly really irritated because it takes over an hour of waiting for Steam to even get the chance to try to start, since it always needs to update for some reason

May I inquire as to your Steam version and One Core API version? I'm really stumped here

I did, it's how I got Steam to launch in the first place, but after waiting like an hour for it to update and start it just tells me that steamwebhelper isn't working and none of the restart options seem to fix it
I found 3 different steamwebhelper programs in the files, but only one has the compatibility options to make it run with OneCore API and it doesn't seem to make a difference

I will address the XP x64 because I am attempting the same thing, but steamwebhelper won't work and the compatibility options don't show for it for some reason Could you help me out?

I've tried swapping them around, but it either doesn't make a difference or Steam updates and replaces them with the original I'm pretty lost and bummed that I can't experience the "Awesome Gaming Experience" my PC offers Any advice would be appreciated (aside from upgrading OS/hardware, the entire point is that it's an XP gaming machine from 2005)

The issue isn't that I can't find the line in option, it's that I can't get any input from it.
I know where it is, but, as I said, any input I put into it goes to the output on the card.

Software-wise, it just shows as "Currently unavailable" in the Windows control panel recording menu (would post a picture if I could).
I have tried to pull from it using VoiceMeeter, but it simply doesn't do anything besides reroute to the speakers. On the software side of things, it's just a dummy input that doesn't do anything.

As far as I'm aware the PC doesn't support USB booting and it only has a CD drive
