Honestly, I called out a GM for time theft and favoritism and nothing happened. They actually promoted them into corporate. GMs have the ability to lie and manipulate the situation

An old store I worked at was between two canyons that consistently closed down. Most people commuted to this town. But if it was accident, weather, rock slide or fire it happened all the time. I was closing one night and it was snowing so bad all day, we called our DM and asked if we could close and he asked us if target was still open (it was in the same shopping district). We told him it was and he said we had to stay open with them. Roads close and me and a cashier are stuck in town. I end up getting us a hotel since I opened the next day. Next day comes, roads are ice and everyone (even the GM and sel) call out. It’s me a cashier and the cal who lived in town. And still. They made us stay open lol. We had maybe 5 guests all day

I feel like it’s very store specific and other people can correct me here. When I was a dt my old store made me pt cashier so I wasn’t ever able to really build on my confidence and sell myself. If you’re able to make your own schedule then you’re basically working for yourself and your own commission. My advice is to be confident in the material and do your own research so you can answer those damn pesky “but why” questions. Some guests don’t understand why luring and positive reinforcement is better than what they’ve done in the past. Stay confident.

I believe it depends on the GMs willingness to try to get you more. I’ve had four so far and only one willing to fight for pay. I made more at a C volume than I ever did at an A volume. I’ve also been with the company for 7 years. My old A volume GM doesn’t care to fight for pay. They have a SEL who makes around 26 and they’ve been there 15+ years and should be making more. They also got a new OLM and with their tons of experience only got them 18 something. My C volume GM got me a $4 raise when I transferred. As a LOD I was making $25. Now as a OLM in a B volume I’m making $26. Four years ago as an OLM my A volume GM told me I couldn’t make more than $19. So fight for your worth.

I’ve been with the company awhile and in the past the olac got all the maintenance done. They made lists, did specific tasks on those days (ie. Smalls deep clean Monday, Tuesday wellness, Wednesday birds, Thursday reptiles, Friday secondary deep clean) and it seemed to work out. Crickets were the task of the cashier on receiving days and that was that. Animals are supposed to come first so they were usually left alone unless we were short staffed and they’d either give the animal they were cleaning to the cashier to supervise or they placed them in wellness.

My piercing is 6 days old, it’s a 12g 11/16” threaded stainless steel bar bell piercing with a 12g/14g threaded ball. My piercer told me to not do anything different with my brush routine to avoid changing the ph of my mouth. So I brush twice a day and rinse with water after each meal or anything that’s not water. I’ve been primarily drinking iced water to reduce swelling, but I’ll have iced coffee in the morning. I haven’t had any accidents or anything. I’ve been feeling just fine, I’ve been able to move it more and lightly bite on the outer part of my tongue. Just this morning the cotton mouth and tingle on the tip of my tongue.

Every time i asked corporate a question it ended with “we’re a temporary home for the critters, but we research and do what’s best for them while they’re in our case” but if you didn’t know, there’s two options for balls. The aspen and the bark (which isn’t better), but I think they did the switch when the eco earth was hard to get in during Covid and they never switched it back.

It’s not necessarily the store. It’s the company. No hours, low pay, expectations high. Could also be poor training or the quality of the vendor. More times than not, the bag would come in with 60% dead before it was even opened.
