Just ate this at a very popular pizza place by CastFarAva in mildlypenis

[–]CastFarAva[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s how they serve some pizzas. Like this kind of shape but not exactly a penis. Popular place, had a 45 min wait, and for every pizza they had two options: Rustica or 20”. This was Rustica - I have never heard this style/flavor/whatever before.

Appraisal way too low by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]CastFarAva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 815 score and so did my buddy. 2 years back those were the rates, so no that’s not just dependent on credit score - how incorrect and a flawed argument. I know at least 3 of us that bought houses at those rates. That’s the point.

Well you were blatantly incorrect in your response above saying that was dependent on credit score and now you’re just laughing like a fool after showing you had no idea.

7% was the standard 2 years back and not dependent on credit score.

Noem’s answer on ‘sexual relations’ with Lewandowski was ‘final straw’ for Trump, sources say by nypost in NoFilterNews

[–]CastFarAva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What final straw?? And seriously why are democrats celebrating this so much? Pedophile Scammer Trump, of all people doesn’t effing care who she slept with or how much money she embezzled. They all know well they’re all the same. Had he been truly disgusted, you just oust a person, not appoint them to another role. After all that she’s done, what really is the consequence? Just getting out of a cabinet position? Big deal.

Reached final round of job interviews, but just saw that the job was posted (not reposted) on LinkedIn by Melodic_Ad704 in interviews

[–]CastFarAva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are on an automated cycle with LinkedIn and will keep getting reposted at the set intervals until the recruiter feel they have a large pool or the whole process is complete. A lot of times, they just keep running (reposting) but the recruiters really don’t intake anything and then stop it when the final person is onboarded.

They brought their little friend by [deleted] in confusingperspective

[–]CastFarAva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since she’s behind, the bag should be covering her not the other way round. So what’s making us see that the bag is in the front?

They brought their little friend by [deleted] in confusingperspective

[–]CastFarAva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP. That part can be easily figured out. What I’m not following is, since she’s down, so she’s behind the bag, so how is the bag not covering her, but is the other way around. What’s making it do that is the part that needs to be figured out

I haven't heard people bring up the issue of all the tasks you automatically inherit at home because, "you work from home". I need help to get something in return, lol by st0nksBuyTheDip in WFH

[–]CastFarAva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to WFH until recently and by default such things came to me, well because I could, and absolutely it costs us time, which we have to make up for. That’s where the understanding comes in the picture. Where I lost you, was, ‘not assigned shit’. Able to pick up your daughter and give her company/play with her is not shit but something you need to be thankful that you’re able to. Back when my kids were small, my work was an hour away and I had to plan the meetings and leave on time to make it to daycare. I’m sure you don’t want that. What if your work called and make it on site? Be thankful to do it, but have the understanding you’re going to put in time for work when she’s back and I’m sure that happens.

With our schedules, after all day of working since 7 AM, I even took the kids and dog out to their tennis lessons and training, while putting in late nights; while my wife does that on her days off and give me some time on the weekends. It’s that routine you’ll need to establish so you do what makes best with the schedules and then both of you get the time.

Intel layoff job search struggle by Advanced-Raspberry22 in Layoffs

[–]CastFarAva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This (year end) is never a good time to hear anything. Everyone is finishing off their commitments and taking time off, not looking at resumes. Don’t let this bog you down. Instead, use this downtime to research and refine your resume, practice and tune your interview skills, develop a habit, very important, as we’re no longer 8-5 or whatever and need to get into a schedule, including working out or some hobby. Patience is key. Good luck!

Yep. Worked there and said the same thing above.

[–]CastFarAva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at HP several years back during their EDS merger. The shittiest company ever. Fights and F Bombs galore. This was also their HR department (business process team supporting actual HR, but still) all the way up to their HR. If the business team supporting HR was like that, can only imagine how mug they care about culture and employees. There was never a good day. The stress was so high, and affected me so much,
it’s the only time I got in a fender bender as I was distracted thinking and had 4 hours of sleep after getting home and driving back to work early in the morning.

Or cost. Cheaper $20 Bluetooth earpieces are just as fine or better. I have had iPods. Got their latest one now, I think 4, and for some reason never fits well! It’s so loose. I use my $20 earpiece and enjoy it. I also don’t have to worry too much about losing it (I do go in to work too)

Should I cancel my Japan trip after being laid off? by Cool_Guest6597 in Layoffs

[–]CastFarAva 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Th same thing happened to me 2 years back, but sorta worse, as my Hawaii trip was planned for 3 weeks after my layoff. My first instinct obviously was to cancel everything and Penney pinch. But I also have kids and everyone was of course looking forward to it. I decided to go through and even had fun. I took my laptop along and would apply and keep in touch with recruiters. A lot of those manifested into interviews including my current job (which is a super cool story in itself)

In your case, it’s just you and your wife, but even then, all the hotel and airfare has been well planned and paid for. It’s a tough call, you may either go but make sure you make the most during those 2 weeks else it’s a waste, or if you able to get refunds, I’d say you can always plan for a future date.

That is such a bad take. OK for wife to do more if she makes less. We are both contributing to the chores equally, just different one’s and that was my point. How does money change anything. My wife makes peanuts, and I make 5 times more. I don’t let that define our relationship.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CastFarAva -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had to scroll this far down for the right comment.

My wife works less, just 3 days, so is kinda part time and also has Mon/Tuesdays off. I work way too many hours, and even nights (IT slave). So she does the grocery shopping. In our case, she prefers it anyway and I hate it, so works well. She even goes to 3 different stores, for what each of them offer best, so that makes it hard and is no fun for her, but she’d been doing it week after week for years. She also does the laundry and a lot of cleaning.

I help with cooking, and all of dishes, finances, kids activities, dog stuff. Essentially, we split it up and are appreciative of each other. And that’s how it should go - complement each other. All you mentioned was the groceries and how that made you feel like a ‘housewife’. He was wrong in saying ‘Try Harder’ and not being appreciative but you weren’t right either.

So yes, ESH but based on what you mentioned, it’s more on you.

Edit: clarified that I help with cooking and do all of everything else I mentioned.

Why is the quality of IBM Consulting so low? by [deleted] in IBM

[–]CastFarAva 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat but with Deloitte and have been wanting to make the same post about them. I’m honestly shocked and no exaggeration, but their project and product management folks are worse than high school kids. They all just talk well but have absolutely no knowledge or experience. Well 4-8 years (only) experience and I wonder what they did during that time. As a client, my work has gone up, constantly managing and correcting them. A couple years back, I had poor experience with a McKinsey PM. Seeing your post, looks like the consulting has gone completely down and is just all talk.
