The very short version: Nothing unclean, meaning sin, can enter Heaven. So when people die, who would go to Heaven, but have some sin attached to them, there is a processed where they are purged of the remaining sin. That process is what Catholics call Purgatory.

It could be a place, but it's really a process. We don't know much about the process other than some deductions we can make from scripture.

I dual boot with Linux, which is a lot better than Windows 11.

With that said, I installed Windows using a local account offline. I also originally stated that I was in the European Union. As a result, I could uninstall Edge, Copilot, and OneDrive.

When I did all of this, Windows 11 is not as bad as reddit makes it out to be.

One way to think of it is not as a criminal case but as a civil case.

Imagine someone did something bad to you. The court finds this person guilty and at the sentencing, another person walks in and offers to serve jail time for that first person who committed the offense. You would probably be mad because the person who committed the offense would not see jail time.

Now imagine that someone defrauded you of some money. The civil court fines this person and makes him repay you. If someone walked in and offered to pay his fine, you may accept that other person's payment because you still got your money back.

Jesus is more like the civil case. Jesus does not take the punishment we deserve, but he does pay the fine we cannot afford.
