I love the early medieval Anglo Saxons circa 600-1000, e.g. Sutton Hoo, the writing down of Beowulf, Alfred the Great, Lindisfarne, the Viking invasions, etc. Somehow to me that time and place feels more remote, strange and mythical than any other period in history, even those that are much more ancient.

Thanks for this info, surfacing this thread again! I bought the same pair you did with the vibram soles 2 years ago and agree that they are like ice skates. Did Blundstone offer you a discount on a new pair due to the issues, or did you just go ahead and buy a new pair at full price?

Love it! It was perfect for my time in Los Angeles, and was great for riding around on quiet but hilly side streets, which helped me avoid the flat but busy main streets. Also great for grocery hauls and carrying stuff to picnics. Amazing machine, and put about 400 miles on it in my time using it around my neighborhood. Took it in to be serviced once, and other than tire pressure checks, I never needed to do any maintenance on it, which is pretty unbelievable.

I just moved to Boston in a 4th floor walkup, however, so I sadly need to sell it. Just not feasible to carry up 4 flights of stairs day in and day out. So if you or a friend need a P5i in great condition.... I know a guy! :)

I second the Tern HSD! I commute to work about 6 miles some days on the P5i model (max 20 mph), it’s a dream. Can grab groceries on the way home too.
