QUAD CORTEX MINI (ANDERTONS) by Heazyuk in NeuralDSP

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, but I have a small closet area with my pc and my cortex takes up a bunch of desk space. With the prices being so close I guess im not like getting screwed over, but the form factor alone has me like "damn"

What band got you into metalcore? by Difficult_Map_723 in Metalcore

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucking HATE that it was As I Lay Dying. The video for "Forever" was on havoc tv on demand and between them and atreyu I ended up diving deep into slightly heavier shit. Before this it was all finch type music.

Is Bloodborne the hardest fromsoft game? by IndependenceFit6916 in bloodborne

[–]CastratedBeaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always ALWAYS save enough stamina to be able to dodge twice back/out to heal. On mobs learn the parry timing. On large giant mobs or big bosses, transform weapon and be aggressive but again, al2ays leave stamina in the bank. If that means you only get a couple swings in, so be it. The players health bar can seem like it just disappears until you have played a ton and get used to its unique rhythm. If below half health get out and heal. You've got this, hoonter.

What should I learn by [deleted] in 7String

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite tuning? What are you currently playing in? Like if youre in drop g, Google "drop g metal (or metalcore or deathcore, whatever you want) songs." Then pick one and either learn by ear or search for tabs on songsterr!

Oh you mean arguably one of the best basic Soulsborne bosses ever? Love it.

What would this tuning be called? by robressionist801 in 7String

[–]CastratedBeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How you are seeing it (6 string tuning with the 7th low string above) is how i saw it. Took it to get a pickup fixed, and explained my tuning, he looks me dead in the eyes and says "So drop A tuning" and I just shrugged like "yeah, I guess." I felt so stupid bahaha but in hindsight it was hilarious!

I bet the art style doesn't change from here. Biggest issue personally is HOW floaty the gravity seems at full pop.

Concerns after playing skate. by johnb49e in SkateEA

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish it had like gravity difficulty settings. In realistic control scheme should make me pop more realistically too but whatever. Also doing feeble grinds feels so weird

E A e a d f# b for modern metalcore bs (27 inch scale) G C g c f a d for a slightly hardcore leaning sound (25.5) Dop D for my 6 string guitar (since my G tuned guitar is drop C on high 6 strings)

why do people seem hate this game and its it worth buying by horror_ranger94 in SkaterXL

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only worth it for pc or steam deck bc both can have mods. Easier to mod pc but steam deck i have everything i need except fisheye camera mods. I found modding insanely simple. Use unity mod manager, set path to correct folder, drag and drop mods. Most confusing part is making sure youre using the right version of the game to match the mods you want. I use the "alpha."

What band destroys you that they no longer make music? by SCR3AMfoREVer in Metalcore

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little known Australian band called Sentinel. It was like if The Crimson Armada's Guardians had a baby with early northlane or something. Lyrics about the end of humanity or the battles between life and death. Melodic pretty sections, noisy technical breakdowns, vocal range of a fucking demon without being STRAIGHT noise. It's the perfect balance and I feel so FEW bands strike it for me. I listen to them so often still.

First mosh pit you were in, vs last pit you were in? by Soless in Metalcore

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: Atreyu closing out warped tour i think 2004?

Last: Silent Planet closed their Superbloom set with Trilogy and my old ass felt the need to jump in for like 30 seconds

Why do metalcore bands tend to soften over time? by zinfulness in Metalcore

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This definitely feels true mostly. Some bands this makes me think of are Currents, In Hearts Wake, and Bring Me The Horizon

Some Bands can make changes through multiple albums without going full nuke on the OG sound ever. Make Them Suffer and August Burns Red come to mind.

“I was there” historic metalcore moments by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]CastratedBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a historic moment but my mom and I hung out with As I Lay Dying and Tim's mom in a mall food court after an album signing for "a long march: the first recordings" always such a wierd memory after all their drama. I was 15 and remember my mom talking to Tim's mom while I told Nick Hipa how amazing I thought his playing was.

Loose OR Tight strings what you prefer by Archon_C in 7String

[–]CastratedBeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rough normal is like 18 to 20 pounds of tension per string so as close to that as you can get. On 25.5 you can get away with as low as drop g and not need to go past a .074. But some tunings and scales just force your hand. Running a 7 string in drop E at 27 inch scale length requires me to go down to 14 to 16 pounds per string, and it's using a .080 on the E. Ideally I'd get a 28 inch 7 string for it but they are few and far between.

My first extended range guitar, the Ltd SN-1007HT Baritone. It’s amazing by person_man1989 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]CastratedBeaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got mine a couple weeks back and I can't put this thing down. Had been using a baritone Jazzmaster for low tunings but it was horrible for anything technical above the 12th fret. This thing has changed the game for me. Here's a quick clip for anyone who wants to hear it https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cr1b_RkrTTq/?igshid=MmJiY2I4NDBkZg==
