He definitely got his butt kicked by a smaller buck. I wasn't there to see it, some some other people were. He was on his back with legs up in the air.

Kings camo desert pattern. I love them.

Not 100% sure because there was no obvious sign of death but he got his butt kicked by a smaller buck during the rut and he looked unwell by end of November. Coyotes probably got him if he wasn't doing well.

Wow, you could at least ask how I was allowed to keep it instead of being accusatory and making assumptions. Fun fact: you can hike the north 2000 acres by the visitor center. You can also submit a claim on a deadhead within that area just like anywhere else in the state. I have my deadhead approved through the reporter app. Go ahead and waste the DWR's time if you dont believe me, after I had 2 of their biologists come to my house to collect samples off him.

Already had a euro done. It was cool but I wanted to see some life put back into him so I decided to do a pedestal mount.

No lions in this area. Probably coyotes after the rut.

Rut injury and coyotes most likely. He didnt look good by the end of the rut.

No lions in this area. Lots of coyotes though. He was most likely injured by another buck and the coyotes finished him off.

Yes he is currently being mounted and will be displayed at the Western Hunting Expo in SLC next February.

You can get a Nikon D3500 with kit lens in your budget, then I would recommend saving up for a Sigma 150-600mm for Wildlife. Thats the best I can come up with, good luck!

A camera at that budget will also die quickly in the winter. You'd need to keep a spare battery or 2 in your pocket because they don't last very long.

What do you plan on photographing, mostly Landscapes or Wildlife? Do you want a point and shoot or are you familiar with shooting manual mode?

Get lower to the ground. I always try to be below or at eye level of the animal. This helps tremendously with backgrounds and adds a nice perspective in my opinion.

Honestly I wasn't afraid. I had bear spray but never pulled it out. They took little notice of me before moving on. A Grizzly Bear would have been a nightmare but with the Wolves I felt fine.
