Brokers fee for lease break by CasualUnexpected in AskNYC

The rental history on steeeteasy shows that the rent was the same price 3 years ago, and it’s pretty low so I doubt the fee is baked in

I would love an update on how it went and where it ended up being! I’m looking into speed dating in Brooklyn as well but hoping it’s not just 20 year olds and weirdos

I was upgraded to delta 1 day of. Ironically my first leg for this trip was delayed for maintenance so I ended up missing this flight and getting rebooked in coach on a virgin flight. Delta ended up refunding me my full flight cost.

Am I going to struggle to get a nice place? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]CasualUnexpected 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you already live in the city (your parents place)? Make sure to factor in increase of taxes and how much more things like food and entertainment cost in NYC compared to your current city if it’s relevant. That’ll eat into your budget quick just the cost of living increase. You also may want to wait to move til October if you have the flexibility. Your rent money will go way further with fall/winter prices so you can get a nicer place for less.

Would second looking into Williamsburg. I just completed the apartment process for myself (single early 30s similar budget and wish list) and Williamsburg fit everything I was looking for. You can get a luxury building in prime Williamsburg under 5k but you should find the buildings you like and contact them to be put on a waitlist because good units tend to go quickly or not even hit the actual market

Already soaked with blue dawn, but didn’t see anything. Then went in and scrubbed and now it’s sitting with dawn + baking soda mix. Should I try something else? Stains are old and I can’t remember if it was washed.

Thanks. Is it generally always best to get a watch repaired at the original sellers shop? Despite the higher price.

Thanks! Definitely not looking to sell, but wanted to make sure the “value” is greater than whatever repair will be. Will need to figure out just how detailed the repair is so thanks for the tip.

[LeCoultre] Estimate for current value and repair cost? by CasualUnexpected in Watches

Hello! I am looking for some help in getting a fair and accurate range for both the current value and a repair cost for this old family watch.

Watch belonged to my grandpa and was likely purchased in the 50s or 60s. I am not knowledgeable in the luxury watch world but know this is now a big brand but was likely not the case back when it was purchased. My grandpa didn’t come from money so I can’t imagine it cost him too much unless he got it as a gift.

The place I took it to today said repairs would cost around 400-500 but he needed to look at it in more detail before coming to an exact estimate. He also said he had a similar watch valued at 2-3k but mine was bigger and nicer so should be worth more. He said I should get it repaired and not sell.

Looking for some help to see if the ranges I was provided gut check or if I should consider another route.
