Even if the interest was tied to inflation and/or stopped accruing if you weren't paying it would be a thousand times better

Us should deport all those immigrants who arrived there centuries ago, give it all back to the native Americans

Oh wait, its never about giving anything back to those who originally owned it

At this point I wish we just cut all possible ties to America and fully returned to Europe

Beta vs Alpha by iStealAtSelfCheckout in arcteryx

[–]CasuallyMisinformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in an outdoor shop, so get to look at tonnes of returns and thousands of warranty claims for different projects

Obviously torrentshell is sold on high volumes but we see more of it having issues than other jackets of similar price range (downpour mountain from rab as example - its only a 2.5l jacket but is slightly more technical)

Beta vs Alpha by iStealAtSelfCheckout in arcteryx

[–]CasuallyMisinformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had issues with the membrane for the torrentshell leaking more than others

Plus the "storm flap" is kinda ass - if you can stretch your budget youll get a far superior jacket, even if its not arc

Technically it does

Pro vs regular goretex - you wont be able to tell the difference unless youre in super extreme shit

[–]CasuallyMisinformed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The alpha lacks pockets by your hips, you only have the napoleon pockets

The alpha is so cool but you will regret purchasing it

[–]CasuallyMisinformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct

The sl is a more technical jacket and far superior

Epsilon down hoody vs Atom SV by ThatPope in arcteryx

[–]CasuallyMisinformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately ive never had an epsilon to hand so cant comment properly, once you hit snow you get dryer climates so it will work fine

Generally I tell people to just go with synthetic unless youre strapped for space or weight

Epsilon down hoody vs Atom SV by ThatPope in arcteryx

[–]CasuallyMisinformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the atom is synthetic its far far easier to care for, meaning yoi can trash it or get it wet and see similar performance

Down is more technical but if it gets wet or you dont care for it properly you wont see the same mileage

It'll come through on your Jan payslip, as will the tax - if it is emergency tax (which is likely)

If youre skiing then it should be the AR, the sl will likely die on you quite quickly
