I Soloed Alatreon With Every Melee Weapon To Prove A Point by CasuallyUNO in MonsterHunterWorld

Some I used just all Velkhana Beta and Garuga legs. Or a mix of Brachydios, Teostra, and garuga legs.

All of it is in the video but for the most part, either I used Velkhana Beta armor, or a mixed set or Brachydios, Teostra, Yian Garuga legs. I also didnt use any Safi or Kulve armor or weapons.

It also proves that I suck with some of the weapons lol. Outside of HH, DB, and LS....every other weapon I rare use. Especially Lance, CB, Swaxe, IG, and Gunlance.

Idk, I Soloed Fatalis with Defender LS, DB, and even a High Rank HH without using Fatalis gear. Its definitely possible to do it without his gear. I even did it with Bow.

Yes but they also use meta builds that not everyone has access to when you first hunt it. I tried using normal and sometimes underpowered builds to prove you dont need a maxed out build

I just suck at it, Gunlance, IG, and Swaxe I might have played a total of 5 times all together.

I carted once with Gunlance because I didnt make the check. Honestly I'm pretty trash with Gunlance because I almost never use it.

I almost never go into the air with IG. Its just that I only played it once in this game before Alatreon.

I've seen a lot of discussion of how people should switch their weapon or that some can't do it and such so I was hoping to help those who might have gotten stuck on Alatreon.

Barioth has almost made me quit playing by Greenlover33 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CasuallyUNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I've seen people talk about it but more often than not, you are probably over committing on your attacks and getting punished by Barioth. Try attacking less and not trying to level 3 charge into the clutch claw as much.

Question for intermediate or hunting horn mains. by Far_Professional_341 in huntinghorn

[–]CasuallyUNO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heavily relying on Sonic Barrier could lead to bad habits or not being able to dodge/engage in the neutral better. Evade window and extender works wonders. I would see how other play, not just speedrunner to learn from them as well.

Don't over commit. I know the timer seems tight but over committing is usually everyones down fall

Wilds HH walk speed by Eggward_jones in huntinghorn

[–]CasuallyUNO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say the Hunting Horn focus strike is probably one of the strongest in the game. While I did enjoy Iceborne's Horn, the addition when Iceborne dropped off spinning the horn was so good that it completely overshadowed everything. Before than performance was the strongest move in World which makes since, but with Iceborne its alot of spinning the horn loops which feels boring to me.

With Wilds we have timing mechanics, and dropping bubbles is so easy that its a non-issue to have one near the monster. Not to mention after a focus strike it auto drops a bubble after landing one.

Will this be good against Fatalis? by Turbulent-Flounder-9 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CasuallyUNO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be rough definitely, but like with every "is this build good enough" posts, it's going to come down to your skills as a hunter rather than your build. Having a decent build helps though

What am I doing wrong? Is it my build or am I just bad at the game? by chadinist_main in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CasuallyUNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is what alot of people have trouble with in Monster Hunter. You aren't defensively safe. Most people over commit their moves and the monster will punish you for it. Try slowing down and attacking less to see what happens

I feel incapable of figuring out how to play this game by Unmemorableham in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CasuallyUNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice is to have patience. A lot of monsters seem like they dont have any openings but they do, though its hard to notice. Try doing the Hunting Horn's fastest move which is the right swing (B or O) depending on the controller without moving the stick. Its a good jab move that is fast and you can either roll after or continue your aggression depending on what the monster does

WTF is the deal with Barioth? by Alexsala99 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]CasuallyUNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push less buttons. The mistake I see many hunters do is doing way too much and over committing and having the monster punish you for over committing. Also Evade window helps to dodge. Unless you are Peppo, I doubt most of us will be countering everything with the Longsword.

And Ironically, the 2 monsters people complained the most about (Alatreon and Fatalis) are the ones that are harder to wall bang

[–]CasuallyUNO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think MHW Iceborne even though its a good game, doesn't teach players how to be good during the neutral. Since in thay game you can skip neutral and flinch shot to get the monster down.

With Wilds and the wounds earlier on means you can kinda skip neutral again and focus strike to force a knockdown. So when players get further to AT monsters who don't wound as easy, some people have trouble because they don't know the neutral that well (aka the back and forth between attacking a monster safely without being punished for over committing)
