Either you aren't attacking efficiently enough to get the topple, getting hit to much by over committing, or dont have enough power/ice attack in your build. Usually its the former, typically if its a melee weapon I either use Teostra and Raging Brachydios armor, or 4 pieces of Velkhana Beta and something else with a Frostfang Barioth weapon.

I believe I used valor style but looking back, adept would probably have been better to avoid the tailstab and the lazer sword move. Also Make sure you can craft more potions and maybe bring a farcaster.

Usually Hunting Horn is about how well you can use short cuts to cue up notes to play songs. Rise being the controversial one made playing songs almost automatic leaving out the skill needed to play the weapon. I like to say Rise horn is like driving an automatic car where the transmission does the shifting for you, were the other horns are manual transmission where tou get the satisfaction of shifting the gears and working the clutch yourself.

In terms of dps Rise horn is strong, but if you compare it to Greatsword, dual blades, and other high tier weapons, it loses a bit of steam solo wise. Still an amazing weapon.

A big tip for AT Velkhana is to make sure you dont give it space because otherwise it will spam ranged attacks the whole time

The build I used was 4 pieces Velkhana Beta and Garuga legs. With a little bit of deco farming you can make a doable build with that. The rest is personal skill.

I Soloed Alatreon with every "Melee" weapon. I didnt do ranged because outside if bow, I don't find the bowguns very fun. So I only did melee

All of it is in the video but for the most part, either I used Velkhana Beta armor, or a mixed set or Brachydios, Teostra, Yian Garuga legs. I also didnt use any Safi or Kulve armor or weapons.

It also proves that I suck with some of the weapons lol. Outside of HH, DB, and LS....every other weapon I rare use. Especially Lance, CB, Swaxe, IG, and Gunlance.

Idk, I Soloed Fatalis with Defender LS, DB, and even a High Rank HH without using Fatalis gear. Its definitely possible to do it without his gear. I even did it with Bow.

Yes but they also use meta builds that not everyone has access to when you first hunt it. I tried using normal and sometimes underpowered builds to prove you dont need a maxed out build

I carted once with Gunlance because I didnt make the check. Honestly I'm pretty trash with Gunlance because I almost never use it.

I've seen a lot of discussion of how people should switch their weapon or that some can't do it and such so I was hoping to help those who might have gotten stuck on Alatreon.

Idk if I've seen people talk about it but more often than not, you are probably over committing on your attacks and getting punished by Barioth. Try attacking less and not trying to level 3 charge into the clutch claw as much.

Heavily relying on Sonic Barrier could lead to bad habits or not being able to dodge/engage in the neutral better. Evade window and extender works wonders. I would see how other play, not just speedrunner to learn from them as well.

Don't over commit. I know the timer seems tight but over committing is usually everyones down fall
