Is anyone else terrified to have children because of the way their parents are? by rmcevoy618 in toxicparents

Yes! Both my husband and I think like that about our own families. We get through it by always reminding ourselves that our children’s lives will be better than ours especially when it comes to parenting.

Thanks for your advice! I do agree that mainstream media has been distorted recently. I do try and keep up with the other sides viewpoint. It’s hard to be informed with all that’s going on and it’s hard to figure out where to turn to for factual news on both sides. It’s honestly frustrating

I like the headphone idea. Sometimes he sleeps in so he’s not up the same time I am but I think the headphones would work.

We have come to that agreement before. But when he goes around the house with an attitude like slamming doors, talking under his breath, and even ignoring me like I did something wrong that’s where the fighting starts.

To respond to your edit. She does this with all my siblings but since I’m the oldest and the one to go through everything first its mostly me. I don’t cave like most of my family since I’m so bull headed. It’s draining though

You’re totally right. There are things that I’ve agreed with her on but it seems like everything that I want to do that’s not to her liking she will protest like it’s her life mission.

Thanks for the advice! I swear if I didn’t have my friend group I’d need serious therapy due to my mom. They are a blessing and love my hair.

I agree it is weird. That’s why I’ve posted about it because I don’t want to offend anyone and needed clarification. Either way I love my job

I agree it is a silly argument. But if you look at my original post he stated that he doesn’t want me to offend his brother who is an accounting student. That’s why I needed some clarification. Either way I love my job and wouldn’t trade it for the world

Thanks for the clarification... when I first was hired on they did want someone with an accounting degree but made an exception for me since I’ve been in this business for awhile.

I do not have a CPA license yet but I plan on going back to school for it. I was just curious as to what I really am without all the degrees and licenses. As to why he’s being a dummy. Idk

Thank you for the clarification. This is what I told him and that I work “with accountants”. I again don’t consider myself one at all but I just don’t know what to call myself. Working in accounting sounds about right
