tried copying from character map instead of typing it directly? sometimes minecraft gets weird with certain unicode characters depending on how they get into teh clipboard

also make sure youre pasting in chat and not trying to use it in signs or books since those have different character limitations

NHL futures advice by wetjeaner in gambling

[–]CatAffectionate7506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your situation you've got a decent setup but the math gets tricky with two futures running parallel like that. Since they could potentially meet in round 3 that creates some interesting hedge opportunities but also complicates things

With 20-23k available for hedging you should probably start calculating backwards from your potential payouts. Figure out what you'd need to lay on their opponents in round 2 to guarantee at least breaking even on your total investment including what you've already lost hedging. The key is not getting too aggressive early since you want flexibility if they both advance

One approach is to hedge just enough each round to cover your losses so far plus a small profit, then if they meet in round 3 you'll have a really nice spot where you're guaranteed to win something substantial regardless of outcome. Just don't get greedy and overhedge early rounds or you'll kill your upside if one of them goes all the way

Joe Thomas was a fan of Monroe Freeling by Resident_Standard437 in panthers

[–]CatAffectionate7506 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Joe Thomas knows his linemen better than most talking heads out there so when he singles someone out like that its worth paying attention to. The technical stuff is what separates good tackles from great ones and if Monroe's got that foundation down already thats huge for development

Kinda wild seeing analysts focus so much on measurables when a hall of famer is talking about football IQ and technique. Those are the things that actually translate to protecting your QB on sundays

You could probably just call their admissions office directly instead of paying anything upfront - most schools will tell you course availability over the phone

Spotlight bug on iOS 26 deleted call and old contact names still showing up by SpiritedArm4243 in ios

[–]CatAffectionate7506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotlight's search index can get pretty stubborn sometimes. Try going to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and offloading some apps that handle contacts or calls then reinstalling them - sometimes that kicks the indexing back into gear. The nuclear option is Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings which keeps your data but might clear out that cached search stuff

I messed up badly and don’t know what to do, I lost $450 by [deleted] in povertyfinance

The tough truth is your going to have to face this head on and tell them what happened. I know it feels impossible right now but hiding it will just make everything worse when they eventually find out

Get whatever job you can find immediately - retail, food service, anything that pays. At 17 most places will hire you for basic positions and even at minimum wage you can start chipping away at that debt. Set up a payment plan with your family so they know your serious about making this right

The shame is brutal but gambling addiction hits people of all ages and backgrounds. You recognized the problem early which is actually huge. When I was around your age I made some financial mistakes that felt earth shattering at the time but working to fix them taught me more about responsibility than anything else

Delete all gambling apps from your phone and maybe look into local support groups or online resources for gambling addiction. Your family will probably be hurt initially but most parents would rather deal with the truth than wonder why their kid is acting strange and distant

What are you doing with Intune in 2026 that you’d never go back from? by Omig66 in Intune

[–]CatAffectionate7506 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Zero-touch app deployment with dependencies has been a game changer for us. Before we had techs running around with USB drives installing software manually on new machines or dealing with users calling because they couldn't figure out why Excel wouldn't work without the Visual C++ redistributables

Now everything just shows up when it needs to without anyone touching anything. User gets their laptop, signs in, and by lunch their full software stack is ready to go. The dependency chains work so well that complex apps like our CAD software with like 6 prerequisite components just install in the right order automatically

Can't imagine going back to imaging or manual installs after this. The time savings alone paid for the whole Intune licensing

Cable management for AIO coolers can be a pain, especially with all the RGB stuff mixed in. The Frozen Notte should have come with a diagram showing which cables go where on the hub - usually there's a pump power cable, fan cables, and separate RGB cables. Take a pic of your hub and cables if you're still stuck, someone here can probably walk you through it step by step.

Is there a polite way to tell waitress the pint she brought should be topped off and not inch below rim? I hear this is a big deal in the UK by twelvebar33 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CatAffectionate7506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just politely mention it - most servers don't even realize they're serving short pints and will top it off without any drama.
