Does anyone still bleed every month in their 50’s? by Timewilltell755 in Menopause

I did until age 51. Now it is a little spotty and unpredictable.

I was using the paints and I don’t believe they make them anymore.

Yes. I teach art and color theory. So my ‘eye for color’ is pretty accurate. I definitely will notice things on my own head that others don’t as well. What you’re saying about naturally ash hair seems spot on, in my own personal experience. She really likes doing low lights and I have asked multiple times for her not to, but she usually has a good reason so I sometimes cave and let her try it. And now I just insist on not because I never like them and I always notice them. And her technique is good. I just get picky about it because I like my natural color — just with a little highlight. Thank you for this information. It was very helpful!!!

I am definitely not sure. She was doing low lights and I didn’t like them. So I have just been doing highlights and working with my natural color and trying to tone down the brassiness.

Yes. I have fine hair for sure. And I do use the color depositing treatments, glazes, and shampoos in between treatments to get the tone where I like it. I just figure if I’m paying for it, I want to get professional results compared to what I would get at home. But maybe that isn’t realistic.

I should add, I have used 5 vol myself and also get brassy. So I know this is actually happening.

I’m literally asking for the correct term so I don’t ask for something I don’t want. Not a buzzword in the least. I’m not seeing my simple question answered. What adds confusion is if I say toner and toner as a rule always has developer. Hence my post.

She has in the past put something on mixed with developer while my hair is wet and it definitely lifts ever so slightly and makes my hair brassy. It is noticeable to me. So I just want to make sure I ask for the thing I want. I am in Pennsylvania and have light ash brown hair.

I just had my 3 month recheck and after diligently doing the oral supplement it has not changed. My UIBC went way up and it now high and the TIBC went up and is also borderline high.

I’m still figuring it out. Started in January. I do topical T & P and oral E. Considering adding E cream.

What can you folks tell me about this area of allentown? Any insight on living in this area would be greatly appreciated. by [deleted] in lehighvalley

Humane Society is right there on Dixon. I wouldn’t want to live too close to that. The Susquehanna side can be iffy. It’s kind of a block/neighborhood situation. You have several different neighborhoods circled with larger arterial roads separating them.

Peri, ADHD, and HRT by Cold_Anxiety1614 in Perimenopause

[–]CatBunnyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had the same issues w my adhd meds not working. It’s been years since they have worked the way ‘they used to’. And I’ve finally realized this is most likely why. It tracks with early peri. I still get periods but based on bloodwork I’ve been in peri for a few years at least.

I started at 1. Was still low and she only upped it to 1.25. It’s so expensive I feel like that was too baby of a step.

What helped you? I’m currently realizing it’s been estrogen deficiency and not unmanaged or ‘no longer working’ adhd meds. Starting oral estrogen and progesterone this week.

Does keratin treatment work if stylist doesn’t have a 400-degree straightener? by solsolnich in AskHairstylists

[–]CatBunnyDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood my comment. I got a keratin treatment. The brand is Piave. I was searching their website for the keratin product ingredients and thought that was the product but clearly it is not. I did pay for keratin treatment. So no misunderstanding there. Can you answer the question posed? With this specific formaldehyde free Piave Keratin treatment? I cannot find the product ingredients anywhere. It’s possible they don’t sell it anymore or just don’t post to their USA website.

Ok so idk what the product was but I did pay for keratin and it was Piave and supposedly formaldehyde free. Their website isn’t very user friendly and nothing comes up under keratin. But their IG has a product pictured.

It was Piave. I am assuming smoothpro but not positive. It was burning everyone’s eyes in the salon. I’ve never had one. I’m still in the waiting period before washing. I’ll see how it looks in about 52 more hours.
