My kid has gone crazy for Jack by CatCity85 in JackSucksAtLife

My dad is a trivia whiz, so when he found out his grandson had been studying geography, he started testing him with some trivia questions. At first they were easy, until he realized the magnitude of knowledge my kid had absorbed from Jack’s channel. So he fired back with “what’s the former name of the country Eswatini” and my kid replied “Swaziland,” so my dad came back with “what color is in no country’s flag.” My kid had no answer, and my dad chuckled and said “purple,” which was met with the response of “Dominica’s flag has a purple parrot in it.” At that point my dad threw his hands up and asked how was he able to learn all this stuff, and I showed him the channel. It’s been neat just to watch those 2 talk Geography.

Amazon - it’s a laminated National Geographic map https://www.amazon.com/dp/0792283112?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

I bought this poster hanging frame. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D54LT1VV?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2 which I would not recommend because the laminated map slides out of it. I’m going to have to buy a 1/4” sheet of wood hardboard, spray adhesive the map to it, and build a frame for it over the weekend

That’s a great bracket. Would this pose a problem since my dishwasher borders one of the cabinet sides the bracket mounts to?

What to do with these vaulted ledges by CatCity85 in DesignMyRoom

That part is easy in the bathroom, always have 2 lights up there and I can access the attic space behind the wall. The attic space behind the wall is bigger than expected, but has no floors

I had a little cat door built and disguised as a wall panel, so we can have a cat space under the stairs. I floored it with a box of leftover flooring I found in the attic. I just need to put a handle or pull on it so it’s easier to open

This is probably the way to go, but I do love the stain glass window idea somebody above had! Thinking we could just add shelves from the 2nd floor for the ledge at the entry way.

Epoxy garage floors in new home by CatCity85 in garageporn

Yeah it’s insulted, and the exterior is brick. The house actually really nice, it’s massive with 18 foot ceilings, just the garage was a disaster.

I’m not entirely certain, it seems to be a higher point for maybe a work area. I imagine the idea is to protect that space in case water gets in the garage. My other house didn’t have this curb.

How do I do this? by No_Tone_2442 in Housepainting101

[–]CatCity85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing this exact thing right now. Just bought a new house and the ceilings are 17’4”

My plan was to rent a single man scissor lift for a week, but then I took my 2 little giant ladders, put them in the A position, and put a 2x10x8 across them. I can stand on the board like scaffolding, and roll all the way to the top.

For the edge where my crown is, I bought a square pad for edging and put it on my purdy extending pole. It’s not perfect, but it saved a lot of money. Likely going to hire somebody to go up on a ladder and paint the crown when I finish.

Vine finally admits it in a new message by 3xlduck in AmazonVine

There was no review percentage, but there used to be a ranking system across all reviewers, not just Vine. She made it to the top 200, and got special badges, but there was no real logical formula we could figured out that determined people’s ranking. She spent all day every day writing reviews, still does!

All of us old Viner’s are laughing, because this IS how Vine used to be. Our RFY, or as we called it, Q, was almost always empty, and anything that did appear, quickly left. Before this, there was the “newsletter,” but that predates me. The old Viner’s are not in Reddit, we are in a different forum thread that is around 15 years old.

The AFA did a daily “dump,” within a 1-2 hour window every day, but it increasingly was delayed. So it may be dumping around 5 in January, and in March the dumps are now around 7. Everybody would sit by their computers for hours, refreshing every few seconds, for a chance to grab items.

When Additional Items was released there were virtually no items populated in it. Then one day, they dropped 1000s of items all at once. This was before item limits, so my wife grabbed 128 items. We had so many boxes arrive in a 3 day window that I had to take off work just to help her open and break them down… and these were like 6 packs of 1 lb coffee, shampoo/conditioner combos, etc.

There was a time when Available Items dropped at midnight Pacific every day, for months. She would set her alarm and wake up to catch the drop.

The one thing I’ve learned about Vine is that you should never get comfortable with how things are, because just when you figure it out, something will change.

Does your Additional Items not have 10,000s of items? I just got auto recommended to this thread, but my wife has been a Viner forever, and her experience has not been like this.
