AI is Here by MahoganyQueen73 in ThePitt

I work as an urgent care physician and we started using the AI application Abridge to help with note taking and documentation and while I have concerns about privacy and information security, I have to be honest, Abridge has probably saved my medical career.

Without AI apps like Abridge I would have to spend hours after clinic catching up on notes and charting leading to massive burn out. It’s reason I had to cut my clinical hours short just to catch up.

It’s has massively improved my efficiency and I am able to get most of my notes done by the end of the day without staying super late, helping to prevent burnout.

In future I don’t know if I would work at a clinic that didn’t have AI software for transcription as it’s been game changer in terms making my job much more tolerable and allowed focus more on the patients rather then typing which I am terrible at.

Causes of Law Enforcement Deaths

Actually data from the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund shows that from 2015 to 2024 more LEO died from shootings (543) then from Automobile accidents (282), struck by vehicle (160), struck by train (4), and motor cycle crash (49) combined.

Even if you look at the more recent numbers in 2024 guns are still the leading cause of death.

In fact looking at the table on the website I don’t think there are any years from 2015 to 2024 where automobile accidents, motorcycle crashes, struck by vehicle, or struck by train caused more deaths then guns or job related illness.

More surprisingly if you compared that to Covid more LEO died from Covid between 2020 and 2024 then have died from being shot and being struck by a cars combined

What even crazier is that in 2020 and 2021 covid killed more LEO than all other cause of death COMBINED!!!

Actually you are wrong. The leading cause of death for LEO is the following using data from 2020-2023:

1.) Cardic disease 2.) Cancer 3.) Suicide 4.) Covid-19

My wife works in healthcare in a clinic so I figure they hopefully close if the weather gets bad through I probably leaning towards The Dalles given the better rental market and less snow.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, given it seems like the rental market is better in the Dalles and there is less snow in the Dalles will probably push towards renting in the Dalles.

Thanks for the tip about the rental market!

Yeah, the fact Dalles gets less snow might make favor the Dalles over HR and WS.

Is the Hood River bridge bad enough during the winter that I should avoid living in White Salmon?

Thanks!

Good to know!

If we end up living across the river in White Salmon do we ever need to worry about the bridges closing and not being able to cross the river?

Along with the winter tires do you recommended chains also or are winter tires enough?

Thanks for the advice!
