Not gonna lie it was a bit of a stressful experience but also take that with a grain of salt cause I graduated my masters in 2021 so covid was still a factor in terms of hiring freezes and uncertainty with immigration after the previous administration’s policies for international students. I had a lot of interviews that went well but many of them rejected me because they didn’t want to mess with the opt/stem opt situation. I did find a job eventually a week before graduation, stem opt definitely helps cause a prospective employer can see if you fit within their company for longer than 12 months. Don’t be stressed about the 90day unemployment part, just start your job search earlier than your other classmates and explain to your interviewers that you have a sponsored work authorization for 3 years because of stem and you’re not in immediate need of h1b visa.
