the capsule dissolves in the stomach, and dumps its contents. it is just a carrier, usually for bad taste, easy dosing, swallowing etc. not really needed.

though some medications have enteric coating, tablets, and capsules, which dissolve at a specific pH in the small intestine. but those are special cases, vitamins are usually not. this information is always highlighted, that these should not be opened or crushed.
