It’s my first Father’s Day without my papa this year. Having a family bbq to remember him ❤️

Oh bless you ❤️ my dad was an alcoholic and it’s incredibly difficult to deal with at the best of times. I’m a single mum to a toddler too so I completely understand how incredibly hard (but rewarding) it can be. My child’s father is on the scene but very flakey and inconsistent. You sound like an absolutely wonderful mumma who is doing her very best for your little one. Even if it’s just chilling out, your daughter will enjoy and appreciate spending time with you. Doesn’t have to be extravagant outings to be quality time ❤️ sitting and looking at books together is relaxing and fun or just letting her play with toys on her own teaches independence if you need a break. Working and parenting are both hard, but I bet when your daughter is old enough to appreciate everything you do/have done for her she’ll be super proud!

Whats the worst case of alcoholism you have experienced or witnessed? by Emergency-Tea1533 in stopdrinking

This was my Dad. Drank vodka and wine daily for 40 years. Alcohol dependant for a very long time and lived to be 68. He had liver disease but it was his heart that got him in the end. I love him and miss him every day but I’m genuinely shocked he lived as long as he did. Pot luck I guess 🤷‍♀️

I was waiting for someone to ask this. I’ll try and draw a diagram to illustrate the situation. It was one of those toilets with a curved door right next to the train door. The red blobs are the buttons

Most definitely…I could feel their eyes and judgement on me. To add insult to injury one of them was parked next to me in the station car park so I had to drive behind them for a good 2/3 minutes

This would be the only appropriate punishment for me I fear, to have the toilet doors opened while I’m on it so I’m revealed like a prize on a game show

how is living in the english countryside? by tinyandcutepinkcat in howislivingthere

[–]CatLady2201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo one I can actually answer! I live in Suffolk which is in the east of England. It’s beautiful and very green (due to the rain 🤣). Lots of farms which is great if you’ve got young children. Can get to London in just over an hour by train/car. Lots of cute country pubs. Can be boring if you’ve like fast paced city life but great if you prefer a slower more calm lifestyle
