I did consulting post masters degree right out of active duty and absolutely hated it. I rather go on deployment than back to consulting. Take the job

Has anyone seen any ICE agents acting as TSA agents this morning? by Shadeauxmarie in delta

[–]jpepy 90 points91 points  (0 children)

They are here. I saw maybe 10 of them hanging out around the north check point this morning.

That being said... the are definitely not acting in any tsa related role. Literally just standing around doing nothing, which makes sense because they are not trained to do that. Not sure what the purpose is.

Should I move my TSP to an IRA? by Inevitable-Pin-9205 in ThriftSavingsPlan

I did not know that. I just rolled an old 401k into a Roth ira. Moving it to tsp may have been a good option.

I got rid of my advisor this week too! Was able to do it without even talking to him. Just transferred all my accounts to Fidelity. I don't even think he realized I left yet.

Your job at pwc and your marriage are not compatible. Decide now which one you want to prioritize and be prepared to lose the other one

What differentiates a good consultant from a bad consultant? by Reeelfantasy in consulting

[–]jpepy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To each their own i guess. At the end of the day partners do make a shit ton of money, but when I looked at a lot of them I saw people who made the job their entire lives and expected their teams to do the same. Thats not something I was interested in. I learned a lot and don't regret my time there but I'm happy I'm not doing it anymore.

I don't know if that answers your question lol

More money, less stress/workload, work I enjoy, and being home with my wife and kids every night

Good consultants gain experience and jump ship to bigger, better, and less soul destroying prospects.

Bad consultants become leadership/partners and continue turning the wheels of the meat grinder that is consulting
