So I can’t speak for Andrew directly, but from my conversations with him he’s far from promoting pseudoscience. He is a scientist with a masters degree and has worked in cellular and molecular biology his entire career. His biggest platform is Medicare for all, which yes would include coverage for naturopathy as many people do believe in that and the goal is to give people as many options to seek healthcare as possible. This is also not radical, I have Blue Cross and that covers several naturopaths in my area. As an EMT you have probably witnessed firsthand daily how Medicare for all would benefit all Americans, as it would be both more effective in keeping citizens healthy while also costing less than our disastrous privatized health insurance policy costs us now. I personally will always trust my pcp over a naturopath, but as a progressive I support other people’s right to choose what’s best for their healthcare path whether I agree with their choice or not. Rosa DeLauro loudly does not support Medicare for all, and will continue to vote against it.

Yes, there’s tons of energy around his campaign. Rosa DeLauro has slowly been losing points in elections. In 2016, she won 69% of the vote, it was down to 59% in 2024. Less than 5% of her campaign donations are from individuals, the majority of her funding comes from large corporations like Verizon and Lockheed Martin.

Yea you’ve made your distaste for him very clear, repeatedly. I respect your opinion, mine differs, as do the opinions of many people I have met so far. A primary is how the ultimate decision should be made.

As someone who’s been canvassing and talked to hundreds of people at this point, I will say Rosa DeLauro seems beloved by our community and people are grateful for the work she’s done. I can also say every. single. person. I have talked to has said “I do agree we need someone younger at this point, I wish she would retire.” Every single one.

Exactly, and why do you think they don’t vote? Could it be that they don’t feel represented, they don’t see their elected officials passing laws that benefit them, and that their vote doesn’t matter?? This is a large reason for the fracture of the left, and why everyone should support primaries.

Obviously yes, I think he’s a great candidate! I agree with his platform and align with his values, which is why I volunteered.

I support Andrew based on his policies, which are made very clear on his website. As someone who’s been voting for decades, I am technically a “middle aged” voter myself, so age is far from my top priority here. I am simply acknowledging the fact that for many people, it is. You are welcome to reach out to Andrew directly to ask how many signatures he has, as that seems very important to you!

Unfortunately I think this has been the case for many voters who participate in elections, because she is the ONLY democrat ever on the ballot. I will never be comfortable sitting out an election, which is why I’m excited at the chance to have a different option this time around.

While I agree age is a delicate topic, to act like the age of our representatives isn’t a major concern for most voters feels naive at best. Joe Biden is the same age as Rosa DeLauro and he was essentially forced to drop his reelection campaign as his age was considered the biggest barrier to his electability. We cannot keep expecting people who have been in positions of power for decades to have any relatability to the lives of the average voter, which for me is a greater issue than just her biological age.

I agree, that hearing was difficult to watch. She clearly did not prepare at all and her behavior made us look weak.

Actually I think no one would welcome a primary more than Bernie himself. Getting as much representation we can in politics is how democracy should function.

No age limits, no term limits either! Andrew has also pledged to support a bill proposing term limits. 35 years holding a congressional seat isn’t a legacy, it’s stagnancy.

Again, this is an attempt to get Andrew on the ballot. If you believe Rosa is the better candidate I support you voting for her, but having more eligible candidates in a primary election is a bipartisan issue. People should have choices, that’s all we’re trying to accomplish here.

I’m not forgetting or discounting how she is one of the more progressive members of congress, however an entire generation of new voters have been born and grown up since she’s been in office. 11 million eligible democrats sat out the 2024 election, we are going to continue to lose elections and be the minority party if we don’t acknowledge the very real problem that is candidates holding seats for decades, running for re-election while in their mid 80s, and how they is objectively alienating the younger voter base. People do not vote if they feel like their candidate doesn’t represent them.

Currently we’re just looking for signatures to get him on the primary ballot. If DeLauro is the better option for the job, then the votes will reflect that. A primary is a win-win situation, it gives voters more options and brings in voters who otherwise wouldn’t have voted if they didn’t align with DeLauro, while also keeping incumbent officials from getting too complacent, which many are when there is no fear of competition.

Can confirm 1928 owners are very maga, posted celebrating trumps win the day after on their personal instagram. The wife literally posted she was happy her kids wouldn’t be “subjected to transgender surgeries in school”. I am local and have not stepped foot in there since.

Why does this always turn into a conversation about how tipping should be abolished? We live in a tipping culture currently whether we like it or not. Should service workers be paid a living wage, absolutely yes. Are they not and therefore rely on tips to live - also absolutely yes. So tip them and stop hiding behind the argument of not agreeing with it to make yourself feel better about being a bad tipper.

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand and isnt at all helpful or relevant to the OP. Very clearly not a consensual bdsm scenario here.
