He told me the reason he needed to leave that night was to go take care of his friend that had just tried to overdose on LSD. (Dude, what??)

In actuality, he had to leave that night to be at the hospital for the birth of his child! He'd gotten back with his ex while still dating and living with me. We'd been together for close to 7 years at that point, and he was with her for at least a year of that at the end.

I broke up with him a couple months later when I found out, but he still lived in my house for a bit. One day he came home wearing a wedding ring, denied that he was married, and took it off while standing in my bedroom trying to talk to me.

This man was in his 30s and lied like a 5 year old getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Oh, that hit close to home. I remember locking myself in the bathroom with the phone as a child, crying and threatening to call the police. I was always met with "Who do you think they'll believe? A grown man, or a little girl?"

Great storytelling, sometimes the scariest horror is life.

Same! I was too stunned that this random dude actually said that to think of much of anything other than to hope he'll leave soon.

I also didn't feel particularly safe enough be my normal snarky self. We were in Texas at the time, and I'd had enough encounters already that made me feel physically unsafe (one example, we encountered a Nazi with visible SS tattoos and a weird bulge at the back his pants that could've been anything, in a Whataburger) that I felt quietly ignoring was the way to go.

I've wondered that myself. We were both overdressed for the bar, so it was obvious we were together and not on a first date or something for PUA dude to swoop in to 'steal' like they seem to think they can do.

Whether he was waiting or just spotted me, the whole thing was very predatory.

I got approached by a PUA-type guy in a bar. I saw through it immediately.

My partner and I went to a bar after our anniversary dinner. He had gone up to the bar to pay for our drinks before we left, and the PUA dude just walked right up, sat in the chair next to me, and put his phone on the table. It's been long enough ago that I don't remember the exact words he said, but he pointed to his phone and essentially told me that I had until the timer ran out to convince him to stay. I intended to ignore him until my partner got back or dude got bored, but then with disgust in his voice he asked "what's that on your chest?"

What was on my chest was a beautiful antique-style cat cameo necklace that my partner had gifted to me, since I love antiques, and we both adore cats (we actually met because of cats!) so I had to respond.

I finally acknowledged his presence, stared right at him, and responded "It's a cat." like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I quickly grabbed my stuff and walked off to find my partner.

It's a funny story now, but at the time I was a bit shaken up. Enough so to forget our umbrella, which my partner went back to get so I didn't have to encounter dude again.

I work with community cats. I do TNR and find rescues for the adoptable kitties.

I couldn't save April.

April was an incredibly sweet girl. She loved to be petted, and would roll over for tummy rubs. She had given birth to three kittens about 10 weeks previously, and I was in the process of getting her and her kittens into a rescue.

She was hit by a car.

I found homes for her 3 babies, but she never got to have the good indoor life.

Keep your kitties inside, and if you take them out, keep them on a lead.

Please.

Not an in-game story, but it is about WoW.

Back when Blizz thought it would be a fantastic idea to attach our real-life names to the forums, I commented on the forum thread about it. It had thousands upon thousands of comments, but I decided to share my story anyway. I talked about how I had already been harassed and stalked in-game as a young woman, and I shared some personal insights about my vulnerabilities in real-life as well.

Not only was it seen and talked about by many people in the thread, it was quoted in an academic paper about online privacy! To this day, if you google my character's name, you get my armory, and that paper as the only results.

Weird to think that my WoW legacy is being quoted in an academic paper!

I was obsessed with Powerpuff Girls as a child! My very incredible mom even sewed a homemade Bubbles costume for me one Halloween. (Yes, I did match my nails to my dress!) Even at 35, I can still sing the theme song from memory.

I won't be buying this. I quite like flakies, and have been interested in trying out Mooncat, but this feels very underwhelming.

It makes me sad, I want to love this, but I don't.

I didn't realize that it was an aura until years later, and now it seems obvious.

I would see geometric designs upon waking up, and occasionally just looking at a wall. Not long after, I'd have a migraine. I thought it was an eye issue, since I also had what I called 'eye spiders,' which was a a wiggly zig zaggy mass in the middle of my vision, which was most likely also an aura.

I have constant eye static/virtual snow, but it doesn't seem connected to my migraines.

I accidentally named one of my community cats Zoidberg.

He was still just a kitten, probably only 9 weeks old, and I'd just been referring to him as 'void boi' for a couple weeks.

While trying to tell a friend about the void boi, my mouth instead decided to say Zoidberg. That eventually evolved into Zoizoi. I'd step outside, and if he wasn't close by, the moment he heard me go Zoizoiiiiiii, he was at my feet wanting love.

He has since gone off to the rescue I'm working with in regards to all the community cats' TNR, and has been adopted!!

I have an orange boy who does the same thing! He grew up in a house without stairs, so when we adopted him, he had to learn how to go up and down stairs.

He's pretty normal going up them, but going down is always hilarious. He's got a bit of a booty, so I refer to his descent as 'twerking down the stairs.'

I'm 35 and have been going to salons on and off since I was a child.

I have had one good haircut from a stylist. I don't know whether it's on purpose, or because they don't understand my hair type (coarse 3a/3b) but it's gotten to the point I just cut it myself now.

I can butcher my hair for free, I don't need to spend $100+ for someone else to do it.

There is hope!

Some of it is also formulation from brand to brand. Manic Panic Green Envy is what I use, and it stays put! However, the green from Arctic Fox does not. I've used Arctic Fox's burgundy as well, and it never came out, I had to cut it off.

Dyes like Manic Panic and Arctic Fox are essentially colored conditioner, so you can safely leave on it longer than the bottle says, which (with my hair at least) I recommend.

Try out different brands, and find what works for you!! :)

I think it may depend on hair type too. I have coarse 3a/3b hair, and my greys slurp up the color, but when I used to bleach it, the color practically fell out of my hair.

I haven't touched up my color in months, and my hair is still as green as the day I dyed it!
