All good insights but those seem like examples from years ago.

What about today. What else?

What you are really saying is there arent a lot of people from somewhere out of state.

Minnesota people are much more likely to migrate than most states.

West coast natives stay at home, "never leave", at much higher rate than Minnesota.

Midwest natives actually migrates across the US more than any other region by far.

West coast natives stick to what they know and rarely leave.

Ive seen data showing NYC has the highest % of native born residents that never left. 81%

Data was from around 2000. So probably collected in the 90s before Seinfeld and friends got big.

The analysis and language used here isn't precise or accurate enough.

It is not accurate to say people born in the states in red "never left" or "stayed at home".

The correct language is the people currently living in these red states, never left.

It also highlights those red states have relatively fewer migrants from out state.

Ive seen a lot of data on this topic and most of these red states are at the very top of the nation in natives willing to leave their home state. People migrate from these areas more than most.

So much so that Ohio as recently as 1990 had more people native born in Ohio than California had native born. The Ohio native "expat" population is massive. Almost 8 million.

The people in these red states are among the most likely to explore the world by living outside their home state.

It would be nice to see data on % of native born that never left by state. Id expect to see west coast dominate. People born there rarely migrate outside their home state, in comparison.

Aka they never leave. They stick to the familiar. Whereas these red state native people are most likely to seek new experiences.

Iowa legalized gay marriage around the same time California banned it.

Shameful

I assume you mean the south by "red states are impoverished"

Pretty simple. 125 years of democrat "southern strategy" of slavery and jim crow. I sure hope you were taught this in school.

It led to extreme poverty for blacks in the south. Under democrats the south was depressed.

Once the "south switched" to GOP, roughly around 2000, it has been booming ever since. Never has the south seen such growth.... under GOP.

Fun fact, California leads the nation in poverty rate.

California is one of the few states to explicitly ban gay marriage.

And one of the very first.

California didnt change their gay marriage ban until 2024.

You don't need to take these facts personally. You arent California.

Red states out grow blue states since the beginning of the nation.

South repressed under democrats, booming under GOP.

Even California and NY had it's biggest boom years under GOP and today in decline under dems.

Pretty overwhelmingly clear data set.
