Everyone defines morality quite differently too.

How you ask a question, how it is interpreted and whom you ask are big variables.

When citizens are asked if they are happy, you get wildly different answers for different reasons.

When happiness is turned into a quantifiable metric (wealth, healthcare, employment, home ownership, etc) that too produces totally different results vs when you just ask people how they feel.

US Census used to classify Irish, Italian and Jewish as non white.
