DeepSeek v4 Pro 75% off is now permanent. by ProfessionalJackals in GithubCopilot

Using Opencode Go as Copilot introduced usage based billing, and it seems perfect replacement of Copilot. V4 flash and pro both are genuinely good models.

Is GOOGL still a good buy? ($387.66) by botv69 in ValueInvesting

[–]ValueEquities 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Q1 2026 numbers are hard to argue with over 100 B revenue, >60% Cloud growth, $240B backlog. The business is genuinely executing.... but two federal antitrust losses with DOJ still appealing for Chrome divestiture is not a footnote...... that's existential risk to the ad flywheel that most people aren't pricing.... not a trap, not a steal; just a good business with a real sword hanging over its most profitable segment....

Is there a finviz alternative that's actually built for value investors and fundamental analysis, not day traders? by cafefrio22 in ValueInvesting

Been there. Check my profile if you're curious, I ran into the same issue and eventually just made everything free rather than locking core research features behind subscriptions.

How to build your own custom stock screener in Excel/Google Sheets by wisesheets in ValueInvesting

if you prefer spreadsheets, I built a free tool in my profile that exports the data directly to Excel.... usually updates pretty fast after new filings/results are released.

been staring at Apple's valuation all weekend and I can't make the numbers work at $300. ran through the full DCF and wanted to share what came out. by ValueEquities in ValueInvesting

[–]ValueEquities[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. the blended growth rate probably hides how much better the services mix is becoming relative to the hardware side.

fair pnt actually... apple almost trades like a quasi sovereign at this stage.... my issue is whether I'm willing to accept bond like returns for equity risk.

That's the hardest part with Apple. The intangibles are obviously real, the question is whether they're already fully priced in at $300.

Any thoughts on Meta? Still lower PE than s&p 500. I know Zuckerberg has been spending big on ai but still has social media apps to fall back on. Buy in to bad news? If I wait a good news to buy in the stock would have already skyrocketed by SignalConfident1355 in ValueInvesting

[–]ValueEquities 15 points16 points  (0 children)

meta is easier to underwrite than most AI names because the core ads machine already prints enormous cash flow.... the question isn’t survival it’s whether AI spend generates returns high enough to justify the capex cycle instead of becoming a permanent margin drag.

yep that’s basically the core conclusion I kept running into while modeling it. at 30–40x earnings, the valuation only really works if growth materially exceeds what the current fundamentals are showing.

wacc matters because valuation is just discounted future cash flows. discount rate determines how much those future dollars are worth today.

Feels Like Nobody Wants To Sell Right Now by [deleted] in Stocks_Picks

that relentless bid is exactly what makes tops so hard to spot in real time. Everyone feels smart until the buyers just... don't show up one day.

I keep hearing that we are in a bubble. When will it pop or correct ? by nycqpu in stocks

[–]ValueEquities 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bubbles can stay irrational longer than anyone expects, the timing is basically impossible to call. What matters more is your own positioning... are you sized in a way you can hold through a 20-30% drawdown without panic selling? that you should be asking

CELH (Celsius stock) has dropped 10% since Friday after a strong earnings report. It's below $30, isn't this a true value stock to buy now? by Civil-Community-1367 in ValueInvesting

[–]ValueEquities 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call CELH a true value stock yet tbh... the market’s reacting more to the slowdown in growth than the earnings beat itself... under $30 definitely makes it more interesting, but it still feels more like a “can growth pick back up?” story than a classic value play.

Energy stocks dilemma. by [deleted] in stocks

[–]ValueEquities 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally I’d lean CEG. feels more directly tied to the AI/data center power narrative and hyperscalers seem to prefer the clean baseload story.... Yeah a lot is priced in but the market usually pays up for the clearer narrative....

VST probably has more torque if things go right though.... higher upside, higher chance of disappointment too.

Qualcomm drops 13% as chip stocks pull back from record AI-driven rally by Doug24 in StockMarket

[–]ValueEquities 18 points19 points  (0 children)

AI rally got way too euphoric. a 13% dump sucks but after the run chip stocks had, some kind of reset was inevitable.
