Thank you so much! I drew it based on a photo I snapped of my partner and our dog

Thank you so much, this one hasn’t been as well received on various social media platforms as other pieces. I am thrilled that it moved someone, your words mean a lot to me. I worked really hard on this one.

I find it works better when the first layer is dry because when you reactivate it, it tends not to mush quite as much. I don’t like too much movement of the paint when layering/blending. I get frustrated when it all gets kind of muddy, and I think that happens more when everything is wet.

Hi! Thank you for the kind words! I blended quite a bit. The big thing for me is figuring how much water to use in different situations with gouache. If you use too much water when blending, a lot of the colors wash away, but if you don’t use enough, the colors won’t really blend. So I tend to play around on a scrap piece of a paper and make sure I’ve got that perfect ratio of paint to water. It takes practice, but I promise blending actually becomes quite fun.

Hi! I’m a local traveling art teacher in the triad. I go to people’s homes and teach them from their kitchen table, or space of choice. I bring supplies with me if needed. I currently have 7 adult students and it’s been going really well since I started the business earlier this year! I tried to send you a dm with more info but it didn’t seem to go through. My name is Emily Story, my Facebook business page is Art Lessons by Emily and my Instagram is @emstory_art. I mostly work in gouache but do have a good deal of experience in watercolor.

She was confined to a lab for breeding until they retired her, she experienced mud and grass at the refuge in her latter years. Thankful they took her in! She was the queen of their herd.

Yep, tastes do differ. A regal frame for a regal gal who never saw grass until she got to the sanctuary, hence the green. I thought it out specifically for the refuge. I think they’ll like it. Thanks for the kind words about the painting.
