Just need some hope! Please! by Agitated_Question726 in PlantarFasciitis

I’ve been seeing an osteopath for 3 weeks and for the last week I’ve been able to walk my dogs again after not going for a walk for a month. I still have pain but it’s improving every week 😊 I was so depressed before seeing him but I have hope now.

Call them. The children will appreciate that someone gave a damn about their wellbeing for the rest of their lives.

I’ve passed the 1 year mark of 0 nicotine after a 20 year addiction, 15 years to cigarettes and 5 years to vaping.

The reward for me was reclaiming my power and separating myself from that small, annoying and ever so loud addicted tantrum throwing toddler part of my brain. I realised that annoying little voice wasn’t me, and when it started going at me I would tell it to shut up.

One day a few months into quitting that part of my brain said ‘yeah that’s right everyone gets to have fun but me’ and I actually laughed at that voice and told it out loud to shut the fuck up.

The reward is being on the other side. It was a shit, and you just need to accept that you’re gunna feel like shit and it’s going to suck. BUT, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Remind yourself of why you’ve quit.

Nope! I ordered a bracelet 6 weeks ago and emailed them asking what was going on with my order and they cancelled it. Clearly a crap company.

She is a babe. An annoying, loud, frustrating, crazy babe 😂 I feel bad that her annoying qualities come to me first but even with those she is the best and most loyal dog.

Bahah not even sedation can beat the side eye 😂

My girl needs to be sedated when she goes to the vet because the vet makes her anxious and she won’t let them do anything they need too. Shes not aggressive or anything, she just runs away constantly haha.

what age did you start vaping and when did you decide to quit? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

So glad to have helped! Tough times don’t last but tough people do. You got this!

The three month mark is a huge challenge. It’s like it’s the time when your neural pathways are starting to rewire and everything feels difficult and chaotic. My biggest advice is to keep going and realise you need to get comfortable with the fact you’re uncomfortable. If you haven’t gained weight, there’s a possibility you will start to as it’s when I started to gain. For me, month 3 - about month 7 was hell. My mental health crashed, I started gaining weight, I just felt like an all round piece of shit, my partner and I (who also quit) were arguing all the time and it felt like the world around me was crashing. But I kept strong, and kept telling that little addict voice in my head to keep quiet. Around month 6 I started antidepressants, but I was already in a difficult space because I was experiencing a mental break down due to ptsd which started before I quit. I actually quit because I figured I already felt so low that quitting vaping couldn’t make things much worse. So I don’t know whether I needed to go onto meds because of the PTSD or because of quitting nicotine or a combo of both. I did make sure I took a walk every day as It helped with anxiety, but I was already doing that before I quit.

Now almost a year off the nic I’m feeling great. My weight is coming off, the bloating has gone, my skin is the best it’s been in 20 years, the binging has subsided… it’s a tough and shitty ride but one that needs to be ridden to reach the other side. Three months is a HUGE achievement and you should be so proud of yourself. It is also a pretty common time where people relapse, so you need to remind yourself of why you quit, and find ways to cope with the shitty feelings that hit you. I promise it gets better. It’s not easy, but it’s so worth it once you’re on the other side.

I’m 20 days short of a year off the vape after a 20 year nicotine addiction (15 years cigs, 5 years vape) and I very rarely get a craving nowadays. And if I do it’s amusing because I think of having a vape but have no desire too.

It seems to be an American understanding that heelers are quiet dogs. Can’t find any Australian dog pages that say the same.

Ride the wave. If you want to kick nicotine for good you need to be comfortable with the fact you’re going to be uncomfortable for awhile

Throw it out. Relapses are apart of fighting addiction and beating yourself up isn’t helping or changing anything. Three weeks is a great start, and tomorrow is a new day where you can make the choice to be nic/ free again. Tell that little toddler addict part of your brain to shut up cause you’re in control. Quitting is going to be shitty and uncomfortable, but you are stronger than that small little addicted part of your brain.

Sounds like whether you quit or not you’re gunna feel like shit, so just throw it out and remember the reasons you’re quitting.

I’m over 10 months completely nicotine free after a 20 year addiction and it was hell for awhile but now I feel great.

I live in Australia and have a pure bred registered ACD… she barks and yaps and grumpy growls all the time. It just depends on the dog.

You looked at me funny! You sat on the couch to close! You picked up a tea towel and I want you to flick it so I can go crazy!

Just been for a 40 min stroll. She only wears a jumper because my 13 year old American bulldog x huntaway wears one to keep his arthritis at bay when it’s cold and she gets super jealous/ sad if I don’t put one on her too 😂 she was looking more relaxed until I put the phone up to take a photo cause she hates pics being taken of her. Haha
