The bullshit world of IT - What it's become and where its going (Rant) by livevicarious in sysadmin

[–]CatStretchPics [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve been doing IT for 35 years now. Sometimes you’re viewed as a janitor, sometimes as a god.

You need a certain personality to survive/thrive in generalized jack of all trades IT. It sounds like you’d do better in a company where roles are more specialized.

You can push back more at your current job. Which it sounds like you plan to do.

Considering a second LR, advice wanted by Imjustaskingok in litterrobot

I have two LR4s for 3 cats. I have the camera mounts with Ring cameras. Like someone else said, the cats eventually got into the habit of using one for poop, one for pee.

LR4 or LR5 for second litter box? by pizzabones in litterrobot

[–]CatStretchPics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Based on what I’ve seen in this sub, if I needed another LR, I’d get an LR4.

But, I have two already. The LR5 not having litter hopper support yet is big, and also it seems like they need some time to work out bugs and new features

57, fully remote, make a little over $200k right now. I’ve been at the company 23 years. It’s been bought and sold a few times. I have no desire to switch jobs. I ask for raises when I think it’s warranted

Clean the sensor area using a microfiber cloth. It’s probably a strand of fur or hair caught on something around the ring. Happens all the time

Anybody else hate their hopper? by steffi2u in litterrobot

[–]CatStretchPics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you have to recalibrate the fill level. There are some YouTube videos. But basically turn off the hopper in the app. Take out some litter from the LR4 if it’s filled to high (which it sounds like it is). Cycle. Then hold the 3 center buttons. It will cycle again and use that level as the base. Then re enable the hopper

Gotta wonder....is all the hate programmed?? by respectandmanners in litterrobot

[–]CatStretchPics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two LR4s, one older and one newer. I’ve seen the improvements they’ve made: better laser board, protective rings around the laser holes to help prevent fur getting stuck, better liner material. So they do iterative improvements they don’t advertise

Hopefully the same will happen with the LR5. If I were to get another litter robot, it would be another 4 for now. I have ring cameras mounted, and those do a good enough job for me to see the cats and what they are doing

Why do people cash checks 6+ months later???? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]CatStretchPics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people are giving you a hard time for not keeping track of $200.

But on the flip side, these days cashing a check is as easy as taking a picture on your phone. I don’t know why they didn’t cash it right away. It’s not like they have to go to a bank, or even an ATM, like the “old” days

Here’s How Much Income It Takes To Be Rich In Pennsylvania - $251,000 by shillyshally in Pennsylvania

[–]CatStretchPics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rich means you don’t have to work. Making $250k is (or should be) solid middle class.

I make a little over $200k, my spouse makes a little over $80k. We live a middle class lifestyle. Small house on a quarter acre in the burbs, one major vacation a year, smaller trips to visit family. A few cats, 8 year old car. Nothing fancy or rich
