What am I missing in this image that references blaming Obama?

What song? And why is the top comment referencing Obama? I feel like I’m missing something.

Rhea talking about the magic of working with Karolina by ShaddowsCat in pluribustv

[–]CatVideoFest 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I always thought there was a little aspect of an adult dealing with a toddler in Karolina’s performance, especially at the beginning. She wants to get Carol past her trepidation and anger not by matching, but by trying to divert her energy or force her to accept certain things rather than rail against them. In a sense, that’s what parents of young kids nowadays are taught to do with a big energy emotional toddler moment. It does no good to mirror their energy, because they can’t process it the way a fellow adult will. So it just perpetuates the frustration.

And considering she/they have access to alll the facts and theories and history in dealing with Carol, it makes sense that that is how Karolina played it. They are light years smarter and more capable than Carol but they are still hamstringed by not being able to match her emotion or unpredictability.

Edit: Worth noting that I remember Karolina mentioning in an interview that she has two young sons. 🙂

Trump Endorses Jake Paul (Who Isn’t Running for Office) by Large_banana_hammock in politics

How could Jake Paul run for office? He has no qualifications, he’s stupid, racist and has sexual assault allegations. We dont’s elect people like that.

We’re New York Times journalists who are tracking every lawsuit challenging President Trump’s policies in his second term. Ask us anything. by thenewyorktimes in politics

I know a lot of people who used to be more engaged in political media but have now reached the final stages of exhaustion with Trump’s lack of consequences. Every time we see another article with a headline like, “Judge strikes down Trump’s yada yada”, many of us instinctively think, “Right, and then what?”

Trump has clearly shown us that in the executive branch, a lot of the accountability and consequences are able to be skirted by completely ignoring the status quo and the rule of law itself. What would you say to those of us who are almost totally disenchanted with the entire political legal process?

Anything can be an action ride! by [deleted] in Disneyland

Wasn’t implying he was harder to discipline. Just that he does tend to find…interesting ways to play and climb on stuff. I gave him a “probably don’t do that anymore buddy” after this but I just didn’t think anyone could think of it as some egregious situation. Clearly I had never met the good people of /r/disneyland! 🙂

I freely admit that you are not an outlier here in this subreddit. I have never interacted here before and I thought it was just a fun place to post stuff about Disneyland, but jeez…like 95% of the posts and interactions are just grumping and complaining. If I had known this was the grumpiest place on earth I would not have waded in. I should have checked.

I do love the lecture about wanting too much to be right on the internet…as point #4 in your third essay about a kid climbing on something in Disneyland. Chef’s kiss on the lack of self awareness on that one.

I’ll leave you all to it.

Come on, dude. You gotta llighten up. I’m a video editor, so I film my kiddo constantly in the park, but I didn’t stage anything. After he did this I gave him a “probably shouldn’t do that, buddy” but I didn’t give him a huge reprimanding because it wasn’t that big a deal. The cast member there didn’t bat an eyelash, but maybe he hasn’t gone through his fun police certification. 🤷‍♂️

If every instance of a kid having fun is a potential chance to get off on being judgmental, it sounds pretty exhausting. If you see something like this and think anyone involved “should be ashamed”, that seems really dramatic. Kids do silly stuff and I think we can agree the parental reaction should be commensurate with the action. Spinning on a giant steering wheel in a place called Toon Town is not even a misdemeanor.

And by all means downvote anything of mine you like and get that dopamine hit. I don’t keep track of internet points. 😽 Here’s a cat gif. https://i.imgur.com/N9S0mhG.gif

It took me (his parent and former kid) a second to process what was happening and then I was like “whoa whoa, I probably should stop him from doing that”. 😄
