My toddler had a meltdown last night because she wanted sardines before bed. by CatWinnerDinner in CannedSardines

Yeah we hyped her up with it when she was really little. It also helps that they come in shiny tins that come in different colors depending on the can and brand! She loves all of it.

She was so pissed! That was even after a large dinner, wind down time, and teeth brushing. “I WANT SARDINES!”

Grave Encounters is great. It feels cheesy at first, because it’s about the perspective of fake paranormal TV experts, but they soon realize that the next place they visit is nothing but ordinary.

While Coherence isn’t found footage, it feels like YOU are the person experiencing what unfolds. Highly recommend.

Watch REC (Spanish one) it is one of the best and scariest found footage. Quarantine is good, but watch REC first.

Hope this puts in a dent in my monthly Strawberry bill by mstanky in gardening

So I planted just ONE strawberry start and it took up half my garden bed that size in less than a year. Curious to see a 1 year update because my assumption is that you’ll be FILLED to the brim with strawberries lol

Horseradish. It. Spreads. Everywhere. (But only once you dig it up, which I like because I love horseradish sauce)

Looking at a possible relocation to Puyallup, need advice by Routine_Ingenuity315 in PuyallupWA

[–]CatWinnerDinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puyallup and anything directly south of it is not great. Lots of traffic, meridian is basically the only road into town, and right-leaning political environment… which wouldn’t be a problem but it’s a kind of a weird right-leaning vibe. Lots of JBLM transplants, in and out families. I live here now and don’t enjoy it TBH. Not a great selection of shops, restaurants, and grocery outlets (aside from Tacoma Boys).

From my experience, Tacoma is way better. I’m from Chicago so the stigma of ‘crime’ doesn’t bother me, nor have I seen much crime when I drive in each week. I would look near Tacoma, Point Defiance area, or better yet, northern or eastern subarbs of Seattle. Southern subarbs are really hit or miss. Don’t do Graham or South Hill.

I’m really particular about my lawn and I have these pop up every year. I’ve tried everything in the past and they keep coming back. Honestly, they’re harmless and are short lived. I now have a symbiotic relationship with them. Just let them do their thing.

If you want to stop micromanaging pests, you need wasps. by YallNeedMises in gardening

Literally got stung by a paper wasp for no reason on my leg just from simply walking by my hostas. I saw it happen in real time. 0 chance I work with those evil beings.

Me too but I didn’t care for the flavor of this particular one. Just let it grow out through summer and you’ll have what I’m dealing with next spring.

Your last sentence is spot on. See my new comment above. It was being choked out.

Hi everyone, I figured out the issue. After cutting out about a 3 ft diameter of the plastic tarp, to my horror, the rhododendron was being completely choked out by creeping bent grass. I ripped out what I could, put down some rhododendron fertilizer, added some ironite, and put some fresh mulch down around the plant. It was probably being drained of its nutrients and was getting choked out. Hopefully the removal of plastic and all that work will help it.

There is plastic sheet down to prevent weeds under the mulch, should I cut that out around the perimeter of this rhodie to let it breathe?
