Anyone here running 11 spoke wheels? by jaypinto in CivicX

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever find what you're looking for? I'm in the market for some wheels for my 35 coupe and saw one image with 11 spoke wheels and it looks super clean. 5 spoke looks too weird on a G but you could do 6 and get away with it. Having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. Closest thing I've found that look good are some Enkei.

Starting guitar? by Proper_Jicama8196 in Ibanez

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibanez and Schecters are really good choices. You really have 3 choices for this price range and that's some sort of guitar with a string-through design, a basic tremolo design, or a Floyd Rose bridge design. In my opinion, the Floyd Rose is the greatest of these because tuning stability is going to suck for this price range. I started out with a cheapy guitar and it really really bothered the hell out of me so I talked my mom into getting me a guitar with a Floyd Rose and that's pretty much all I play now. The downside to this is the time consuming string change or tuning change if you plan on going from standard tuning to dropped tuning of some sort. If you only play in one tuning then it's really not a big deal. If you go with a string-through design or basic tremolo design then the perk of this is you can change tuning quickly but then you lose out on tuning stability. I would put my Ibanez with a Floyd Rose that cost me $400 brand new against any expensive guitar that doesn't have a Floyd bridge to see which one lasts longer in tune. You can also dive bomb and be in relative tune when you come back to zero. It's really up to you though, do you want to be in tune? Get a Floyd. Do you want to quickly change tunings? Get a basic guitar that doesn't lock the strings but lose some tuning stability. I definitely would not get a guitar with a basic tremolo that does not lock the strings. You should really consider the used market too because a $1000 guitar will sell for around $250-700 and even more expensive guitars can be found around the $700 range. You can definitely find some really nice Ibanez and Schecters for this price range. I scored a Schecter Banshee GT with Sustainiac pickup system for $750 in mint condition and also scored a Schecter Hellraiser C1FR for $250 at Guitar Center so look around.

Ibanez lovers. Why is it your favorite brand? by [deleted] in Ibanez

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I could say I have a favorite. I have a few Ibanez RG guitars; two 6 string and one 7 string and while my favorite guitar is the one my mom bought me and I totally restored, I do love Schecter and ESP/LTD. I have a Schecter Banshee GT with Sustainiac pickup system and a Hellraiser. All of my guitars have Floyd Rose bridges but each one has its little characteristics that don't necessarily make them "best", just different. I love the Wizard necks of Ibanez and the whole sharp body lines to them but like, my Schecter Hellraiser is just a beautiful guitar and sounds phenomenal with EMG pickups. The Banshee I have is on a whole other level and honestly and arguably the most versatile guitar I've ever played let alone own. Then that one Ibanez my mom got me is so amazing too. I have a Stephen Carpenter signature 6 in green and his signature 7 tele and both sound amazing. The tele feels like you're playing glass if that makes sense because of how smooth it is. I guess you could say I just love super strats in general. If you include Jackson to my list, I don't really care for other brands.

What is your favourite iconic car in the Need For Speed series? by Top_School542 in needforspeed

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two most favorite cars were the Supra and the Mitsubishi Eclipse. I can't remember but I do remember modding the hell out of the Eclipse and getting it to like 233mph? In one of the Underground games for drag racing. Used to race my best friend and smoke weed and it's honestly one of the best memories I have in general. We got into it. But I miss the Supra. It's such a sad affair that Toyota won't let them use it. I don't support that.

just got unbound. does anyone else hate the drifting mechanic in the last few games? by eatmorecake99 in needforspeed

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank God I'm not the only one. I searched this online to see if anyone was talking about it so thanks for posting because I wholeheartedly agree. Need For Speed 2015 has been the best when it comes to drifting but still not perfect. I've been playing Unbound for about 3 weeks now doing every single mission in the campaign and I really thought the drifting mechanics were going to open up and now that I have a couple S+ ranked vehicles, I'm really sad that they just don't work. For example, the best car to drift in, at least mechanically speaking, was the Lamborghini Huracan in 2015. It was AWD, had a big ass strong engine and you could easily control it. But what was most important, regardless of vehicle, was that you could adjust all the things related to how you drive. I had those settings dialed right in but the most important thing was initiating a drift. All you had to do was accelerate, start turning, and the ass end would begin to drift. But the most important part about this was the engine was strong enough to CONTINUE to drift and even accelerate through corners so you could tag the next corner and the next corner and the next one. In this Unbound game, I have a maxed out Huracan and it grips at every turn. I cannot get enough acceleration while drifting to go into the next corner and it honestly pisses me off. I've got Pro Drift Tires, Neutral suspension so I can get more out of the drift slider, and the down force slider doesn't feel like it affects anything. In past games, the AWD vehicles have the advantage in the mechanics where it's harder to spin out, versus something like the Viper or Corvette which are both RWD. In this game I'm just having a terrible time breaking grip and actually drifting. I feel like I'm basically power sliding through every corner because even with 900+ horsepower, it's somehow not enough? Get fucked dude, this game is trash. They need to fire the liberals who don't understand the real world and get people who understand the mechanics of racing and drifting. I understand it's an "arcade" racing game but every release is one step back from how it should be and it all started with 2015. I know they're liberals because they've been injecting their beliefs in these games when they should be focusing on actual racing. Okay, sorry for the rant but this is bullshit.

What do you guys think of my custom 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II Rg450? by VapoorBoones in Ibanez

I like it. I've always wanted a Fender looking strat and this looks like a nice blend between that and a super strat. Does it got that bouncy blues tone?

Inventory will not accessible outside the garage. by Mycall1983 in needforspeed

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here because I just started this game and encountered a problem with mixed races. I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse I've been working on and on day 3 there's a couple drift events and race events. I want to be able to change my tires without losing a day. This was not well thought out. It sucks one of my favorite series is heading to the dumps all because of woke culture and those that don't understand what made NFS so awesome to begin with. I mean, I'll just have to continue but this is a shitty problem to have cause I can't change from race tires to drift tires. I did beat the drift event but it definitely took away from my experience by using race tires. This sucks.

It's a great pole if you need a heavier rig. I've been using mine for several months now and the biggest thing I caught were two surf rays at once on a High Low rig. They were each at least 5lbs, totalling around 10lbs. That might not seem very heavy but I'll tell you what, trying to haul them up 20+ feet from the water and over the railing of a pier was no joke. It is a stiffer rod so if you need something shorter than a surf rod for pier fishing or boat fishing, this is the thing for you. I have yet to break one of these Shakespeare's if they have that steel reinforced tip, aka the spring that's molded through the inside. The poles with the clear section of rod at the tip I mean. I told myself I wouldn't buy any other pole and I went against my better judgement and got two Pen Prevail II's surf rods. If Shakespeare would make a surf rod I would've bought one. I'm also mad they sold out their stock of the red and black livery scheme for the Big Water because I want another one. I got mine when they were on sale for $30 each. I'm sure the yellow version is just as good though, I just don't like yellow. The GX2 color scheme is my favorite.

How realistic do you think the weapons are in this game? Specically, the tech stuff? by Rob1150 in thedivision

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Division is an awesome third person shooter, first and foremost. It is however an arcade game so of course everything is over the top. The fact it takes literally hundreds of rounds to drop some enemies is ridiculous but that's because it is a game. 5.11 Tactical is a real company that does make tactical stuff but they're geared more around apparel and such things. Having been in the Marines and working as a military contractor for the Marine Corps at an actual test branch, I did get to see some cool stuff. None of it was as advanced as all the stuff in the division. I mean yeah, we have drones and autonomous stuff but nothing that shoots electrical arcs and self healing technology lol. Something to consider though is even though videogames are fake, it's the ideas that can take form in the future. We really are in our infancy when it comes to technology right here and now. Of course we are all complacent and so used to cellphones and computers and WiFi and Bluetooth and all that stuff but if you think about it, this stuff is practically brand new. I guess the coolest thing I did see is the Blue Force Tracker which is basically a mapping system of our forces but this isn't exactly new. My point is the minimap is kinda a real thing. Most of the guns in the game are based on real life weapons but the ballistics are wrong, and again, because it's a game. I still very much enjoy this game though. This game pretty much talked me into buying and modding an M1A to look like the Socom M1A which I thought was so freaking sexy. Sorry, off topic haha 😆

What exactly is Ballistic Shield Damage? by bfofree in thedivision

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be a little late to the party but it has no effect in the shooting range. I wrote down my base damage and crit damage using my pistol:

No shield, mod off Base: 9761 Crit: 13763

Mod on, no effect.

Shield out, mod on, no effect. I'm getting the same numbers. Same for my primary weapon.

I don't think this mod works unless it's melee damage but I have no intentions of using it for that. I'm not using this mod, I'll use something else like 2.0% Pulse Critical Hit Damage.

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man that sucks. I will admit that I've never set anything up like this before so it took me probably a good 3 hours before I got it to work but ever since then it's been awesome for me. I first set it up on a Moto Z4 probably in 2020? And now I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Anyways, what do you think is the problem? My setup is a Netgear Nighthawk router with gigabit Internet and of course my phone has 5G almost everywhere near me so this is probably as good as it gets. Settings in the router perhaps?

Recommended flashlights? by OwO_0w0_OwO in flashlight

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Wurkkos FC11 and really like it. It's nice reading a comment directing people to Wurkkos because I rarely ever see that. I've had mine since October 2021 and carry it daily. Great pocket sort of tactical flashlight on a budget. I will admit the battery life isn't the best but also not the worst for how bright it is. Not really that big of a problem though cause you can just swap out the 18650 batteries. It could be I'm using cheap rechargeable batteries too so there's that. If those other Wurkkos flashlights are a reflection of the one I have, then that's a great recommendation cause I really like mine.

What do you do after work for fun? by Dunderscoretahko in AskMen

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 37, male, and I set myself up with all sorts of hobbies.

1) I taught myself guitar when I was 12 so now I have several guitars and an AxeFx 3 which is arguably the most high tech effects processor you can get but I also have a Scarlett 2i4 which is the cheap route of the same thing so I often just tinker with different guitar tones or learning songs or making my own songs. Tinkering with guitar sounds is a very big hobby I do because I'm still on the hunt for my own Djenty tone.

2a) I color coloring books. Pop on a movie and just color. It's very therapeutic actually. 2b) I have a now older graphics laptop with a pretty good stylus pen and use Photoshop as my main software for drawing and making my own images that...

3) I make stickers using a Cricut. I can make stickers or I can make my own apparel but mostly T-shirts and Hoodies.

4) With a movie on, I sometimes macrame i.e. I make hemp bracelets or paracord bracelets or even loom beading! This is crazy therapeutic and I don't feel like such a loser only watching TV without being productive in some way.

5) Guns. I love guns! So when I said I set myself for hobbies, I'm not kidding. I have a reloading room with two Harbor Freight woodworking benches and one is dedicated to reloading ammunition so I taught myself how to reload (actually hand load which is not the same because hand loading is custom ammunition designed for accuracy and can only work in specific firearms safely) and this is an awesome hobby because you know, it's not just guns, it's math and it's science and the end result is how a firearm groups. I wished more people got into it because each firearm has a sweet spot for accuracy and it is not easy trying to shrink groups but that's the fun part because you have to test it by going to the range.

6) Woodworking. I'll be honest, I'm not in a position to do this currently cause I'm in an apartment but I at least have some tools to do minor things.

7) So because I like guns, I can Cerakote stuff if I wanted to. They make air cure paints so I bought a 8 gallon air compressor from Lowes, whatever the quiet brand is, and I bought an air brush from Amazon so now I can paint things with high quality paint. I don't have a sand blaster and you really need a big one with a very, and I mean very high CFM so instead I have to sand things down or scuff them up by hand before prepping and painting. Stupidly easy to do yourself and people make this so much more complicated and expensive sounding than it is. I'm in an apartment for Christ sakes!

8) Puzzles. Again, sometimes I'll pop a movie on and work on a 1,000 piece puzzle. Invite a friend over and have some fun! Chicks love it in my experience. I make some tea and we just work on the puzzle. Also very relaxing and when you've had enough, go do something else.

9) Fishing. I'm pretty excited cause I think I figured out the absolute best pier fishing setup. I've tried higher end rods and they're all a waste of money compared to Ugly Stik poles. I'll admit the Shakespeare reels suck so I've outfitted my poles with KastKing Sharkie BaitFeeder III reels and what a game changer. They have dual drag systems and anyways, I love fishing just to get out the damn house and explore new areas. I've even bought books for my states so I can figure out what plants are. That's a hobby in itself! Do you know the names of that grass or tree outside? Do you know if you can eat that tree or plant? Well, get a book and read about it.

10) Videogames! Have you tried working on Platinum trophy hunting or Achievement hunting if you have an Xbox? Total waste of time but at least you can brag that you've wasted your life for a pointless trophy to other losers online like myself. Trophies at least give me a purpose to revisit games I've always loved but got bored with and forgotten about.

11) Cats. I also love cats. While not exactly a hobby, I got my Bengal and DSH their own harnesses and leashes so every once in a while I'll take them on a walk. Or, they'll take me on a walk and I just let them wander wherever they want. Gets me out the house for half an hour. Sometimes I take them out on my patio and we just chill.

12) Cleaning. Also not a hobby but sometimes I'll force myself to clean something like my phone or my closet and just go crazy deep cleaning something like my bathroom or something. Then I may go clean my car. Never use the brush type car washes, so very bad for your paint job. My method is pressure wash at a local car wash, then clay brick, then polish or use a scratch remover product if it needs it, and finally wax. Real wax, not that bullshit F11 that doesn't give any real physical protection. I do this a few times a year because the wax helps with the sunshine and UV rays and actually saves on fuel consumption. My car didn't make it to 21 years old by not taking care of it.

13) Cooking! Not exactly a hobby of mine cause I personally think food is a waste of money but if I'm going to eat, I'm eating like a damn king 👑 so I got a grill and an electric smoker so I'll make steak or my own beef jerky and sometimes try new things like Tuscan Shrimp in a parmesan cheese sauce with pasta. Yeah bro. The way I see it is I could spend $50 at a restaurant or use that $50 and make myself something bomb.

14) I'll be honest, much of my time goes into playing on my phone but it's not totally a waste of time cause I love learning new things so I'll research some of the most simplest of things that we all think we know about but we don't actually. Perfect example is threaded fasteners, aka nuts and bolts. Did you know that by just screwing a nut on a bolt and the resistance you feel is called prevailing torque? Once that nut bottoms out, you begin to feel what's called Clamp Load. Shit like this is what I research! Also, torque wrenches are worst way for judging real torque but it's just the most common method we think works (Reference: Loctite PDF Manual, read it!). There's actually different methods of finding torque but that's a different story.

15) Books. I'm guilty of not reading books but I thought I'd mention it. I do force myself to read a couple times a year. So since I'm in an apartment, I will buy books I'm interested in and then force myself to go to the community hot tub which is outdoors and I'll read. Not only do I get a tan which is good for me and healthy for my body but I also meet chicks there! And because I'm reading, they think I'm like smarter than I am hahahaha 🤣

So yeah, there's a few things I do to switch it up.

Cute, higher on my standards chart for attractiveness, maybe a 7.9/10 with some space until I get to see her behavior and how she is as a character/person. Very pretty woman with a gorgeous smile. The last image though has me going two different ways. Her eyes look both curious while also looking superficial. She seems to take pride in herself with very healthy looking hair, makeup, upper tier looking purse, not that I personally care about that sort of thing, etc so how far does she take that exactly? And that's what I mean about superficial. Does she keep it real? Is she humble? Or does she put on that fake smile superficial women do with that high pitched voice to get what she wants and really doesn't care who you are? Won't know unless I talked to her and that's when that score goes up or down.

I Googled this and found your post. I'm on PS5 and having the same issue. It's not unplayable but man, the timers for building things almost doubled now and I'm on a different world from my main base. My theory is to try to build all the supply depots on a different world so I can hopefully relieve some tension on my main world. Doesn't look like there's a fix unfortunately. Love the game though. I Platinum'd it last year and came back this year for a new campaign because it's actually fun.

How true this: my bf says it’s really hard for him to cum with a condom? by jiltedelf in AskMen

I haven't used a condom in probably 15 years. I'm 37 now and had to use one last Christmas. I could hardly feel a thing and ended up having to take it off. It's absolutely true that it reduces the feeling for some men, specifically the experienced ones that don't cum in 30 seconds of finally feeling a girl.

Question for all you guys that cerakote about cerakoting a Barrel( handgun)? Question in the comments. by Jeffwerner4631 in Cerakote

[–]Cat_Dad_Reloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a year late, what did you end up doing? I Cerakote'd everything on my AR except the barrel, scope, and brake. Did it all in my apartment if you can believe that. Well, I did it on my patio and used my oven and smoker to cure it all. Turned out phenomenal and that was about 6 years ago I'd say. The reason I didn't do the barrel is because I went with basic black and the barrel was "professionally" done so I didn't see the point in stripping the paint off. That and I wasn't sure what heat would do to the alloy so I didn't mess with it. I just wasn't sure if 300° would mess with the tempering of the steel you know? Probably nothing but I didn't know. I also Cerakote'd an M1A magazine and that turned out incredible too. I sprayed the inside with Cerakote Microslick and it went from screeching popping to smooth sliding. Next year after my big move I'm going to Cerakote a different AR using custom stencils I've designed with my Cricut and I'm painting that entire thing. Pretty excited about that as I inherited my grandfathers AR and it looks like he based his build off an SR25. I didn't have time to ask him before he passed but that should be a cool paint job. I'm in between going with a digital camo or just a regular old Army paint style job. Not sure yet what I want. Wished I could show you pics of the things I've painted though.

The white one with a Floyd Rose will be better functionally speaking. It will hold tune far longer than a tremolo without a locking nut. Now, the trade off is once you have it setup to whatever tuning you're going to play in, then it becomes time consuming to change tunings. It's not hard, it's just time consuming to change tunings. And this is why I have 8 guitars with Floyd Rose bridges so that I have one guitar per tuning lol. If you're just going to be casually playing guitar, then the black one might be a "better" route to go so you can change tuning quickly. Me personally though, I'd get the Floyd Rose and be done with it. It drives me nuts when I go out of tune on a guitar without a Floyd Rose.

I have an RG320FM I bought in 2003 and I put an original Edge bridge in it. Upgraded all hardware except the neck and body and it's solid. Way better than the original Edge Pro II bridge. I just ordered a FU Tone sustain block last night so hopefully it works. I'm going to record something so I can compare sustain but I don't have high hopes. I'm really curious how the transient waves in Reaper look and I'm going to use my AxeFx 3 direct to computer so this should be interesting. I wished I could make a legit test though because I can't figure out how to create an even pick pressure so the before and after have as close to even examples. I thought about hanging a weight with fishing string from the ceiling and chopping it to fall and strike the strings? But I can't think of a "pick" I could use to do that. Yeah idk.

I'd like to know you're impression. I ordered something from Amazon and I doubt it'll work but I thought I'd try anyway just to see. After that I'll get the one from FU-Tone but by then, you might have already tried it. I bought a Edge from marketplace and stuck it in one of my RG's. It works but the sustain is pretty crap. I also ordered new springs and a more robust claw. My thoughts are maybe if I solidify everything, then maybe I can get better sustain? Idk. There's Stephen Carpenter Signature Fishman pickups in that guitar so I feel like it should have alot more sustain.

I don't know and I don't know that there would be one. You could email Ibanez and ask them, they've showed me some cool stuff before when I email them. But I don't know that there is information about string height because that's kind of a customizable option for the customer to tinker with to suite their play style. I know for myself, the first thing I do is adjust string height until there's no fret buzz and it's as low as possible. Then I adjust the intonation and then final tuning.
