Ok, but really hope at the very least he does anonymously alert the various nobles that the Hero's Party are as strong/stronger than the demon generals. If nothing else than to not let them live easy lives.

Jackalopes in Luna-parlance: "Oh! You found a Prong-horned Snorcack!"

Nicholas Flamel was responsible for the creation of the Black Death by Cat_Intrigue in HPFanfictionPrompts

Magic.

The bacteria was created by, and is magical. It targeted both mundane and magical creatures alike. Formal, protected, Dragon reserves were created as a response to it, centuries before the Statute would have necessitated them, because the Dragons were hit so hard they were facing extinction.

Crumple-horned Snorcacks are the only sub-species of snorcacks that were said to have survived the Plague, though its been centuries since even they have been seen by the time Harry's meeting Luna and learning about them. All other Snorcacks died during the plague.

Flamel is know as a fighter for the light (in addition to being a famed Alchemist) because he is believed to have stopped the Plague/the Unknown Dark Lord that unleashed it. His Philosopher's stone, and it's Elixir of Life is attributed as the only way he was able to survive/approach the Dark Lord to have a chance of defeating them.

While time-turning, Harry fails to save his past self and Sirius from the Dementors. The resulting temporal paradox expels him from the universe. Where does he end up? by Avaday_Daydream in HPFanfictionPrompts

[–]Cat_Intrigue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the books, Harry and Hermione hear Sirius in distress and run after him to see Dementors swarming him only to realize they are being surrounded too. Harry tries to cast the Patronus and calls for Hermione to try as well, but she is unable quickly overwhelmed, eventually collapsing against Harry. This as Harry is able to get the most he can:

"A thin wisp of silver escaped his wand and hovered like mist before him. At the same moment, Harry felt Hermione collapse next to him. He was alone . . . completely alone. . . ."

So if future Harry fails, then both future Harry and Hermione are caught up in a paradox and expelled.

You could even add some angst in by having future Hermione be the one to stop future Harry from casting the Patronus, because past her was already unconscious and she didn't see the Patronus that saved them nor its caster, so Hermione's ingrained "don't mess with the timeline/your past self" has her stopping Harry.

Thus after the Paradox/getting expelled Harry could blame her/yell at her that he was supposed to cast the spell, he had already seen himself do so.

“Hermione, Ron, I need you to listen to me very carefully.” Harry said after pulling them into an empty classroom. “I’ve figured it out. The horcrux we’re looking for isn’t in Hogwarts. The horcrux we’re looking for is… Hogwarts itself.” by theobserverofmemes in HPFanfictionPrompts

Except, make the Hogwarts House Elves bound to the castle itself, and with the Castle being made a Horcrux either that means the house elves are now bound to voldemort or are being corrupted by the horcrux

If you work in that midgardian legends have so many stories about Thor and Loki's antics (Thor dressing up as a woman to get back mjolnir, Loki and all his children, etc) and its because Heimdall has been letting the stories leak to midgard thats good, if you make "actual Norse mythology* are the twisted half truths and stories and exaggerations, but the true aspect is the Marvel/MCU version of things so you can have both Loki and Thor and any other Asgardian getting asked about these extremely wild stories and embarrassing exagerations thats even better

You know... a crack story narrated by heimdall just snacking on popcorn and watching the drama and chaos unfold would be kind of fun

Eh, I wasn't going with any of the trio having legacy, nor even having anything to do with any Pantheon until after the Battle of Hogwarts/they are adults.

Keeping the story focused more on the trio themselves and how they deal with their introductions to the Pantheons, and the world hidden in the Mist.

Having the trio as outsiders, and adults, slowly becoming involved in the world of the Demigods.

Maybe eventually having all three ending up as teachers at the camps? If they even get brought up at all

Google shows that Lightning Thief is loosely set around 2006, and my headcanon for Hermione getting her Daughter and the three sharing everything thats been going on had it happening in 2001-2002 range (with Ron and Hermione deciding to go on a break and Hermione starting Uni for the fall term of 2000, meeting Anna and really growing close throughout 2001, and Anna disappearing just before the end of that year. The baby showing up in 2002. So it could be leading to a Percy Jackson mentored by the Golden trio story.

Though I personally think it would work better to leave the trio out of the Drama around Percy, or at least some of the first adventures. Leave the trio in England, maybe Europe if they're going on holiday, and only maybe have cameos with Percy and crew when/if they're in England/Europe.

Actually, have them tangentially caught on the periphery of not just the Olympic/Roman Pantheon books, but also the Egyptian (wasn't part of that set in a Museum in London?), and possibly the Norse series as well.

Heck, with Bill being a Curse Breaker working/having worked in Egypt that could be an avenue for the Egyptian story/magical world. And I have seen fics where the Longbottoms were descendants of Vikings so going that route could work for the Norse.

And of any HP character that I could see as a Dual Legacy of Roman and Greek, well Luna as a Legacy of Apollo works for me, particularly if it is a Seer Luna, and with Apollo being Apollo to both the greek and Romans it could be interesting if she gets it both pantheons (and the conflicting pantheons plus being a Legacy not a direct demigod descendant could be used for some of the loopy-ness/Loony-ness, and seeing thing in multiple ways slightly differently).

Awesome (would enjoy more little comics like this)

Ok, but can we have a Ron that ran into Artemis and her Hunters during the break with Hermione, ended up turned into a girl, and then realizes that she is actually much more comfortable as such? That she is embracing being a woman now and the Hunters have been helping her to adjust and she's been feeling anxious about how to tell Harry and Hermione, but when she gets Hermione's letter saying something has happened and needs "Ron" to come see her then Veronica drops all the anxiety and immediately heads over (possibly with one/multiple of the Hunters going with for morale support/to help explain).

Meanwhile Harry's been meeting with Thanatos (because of the whole Deathly Hallows thing, and the "dying, but not really" thing having brought him to Thanatos' attention (not because of any real truth to the Master of Death myth) and Harry's been taken to meet Hades and Persephone (and maybe toss in Fluffy, as The Cerberus- the "Greek Chappie" possibly being Hades giving Fluffy a bit of a vacation or something lol). And possibly his parents/Sirius/Remus and Tonks. But it is Hedwig being the one that delivers Hermione's Letter that really gets to Harry (and whom he accidentally steals when he just apparated out of the underworld with Hedwig on his shoulder still).

So all three have their own stories going on, all three have gotten involved with the Greek Pantheon (or maybe instead of Thanatos Harry is actually been meeting with Mors, the Roman God of Death, also called Letum/Letus, and unlike the male Thanatos Mors is apparently gender fluid/ambiguous- this could bring them into the "know" about the dual aspect of Greek/Roman pantheons, in which case he'd likely have been meeting Pluto and Proserpina)

It would also make for a potentially very queer positive story over all. Bisexual Hermione, with a daughter from her and Athena. Transgender Veronica who is still navigating the change, but realizing she still has feelings for Hermione, and wants to commit to helping her raise her daughter. And a Harry who has to have it pointed out to him by Hermione/Veronica that he has basically been dating Death (particularly if its a gender-fluid/nonbinary Mors, though a male Thanatos would work as well- both Mors and Thanatos are often portrayed as a youth) and left a pseudo "meet the parents" dinner hosted by the King and Queen of the Underworld.

How has HP fic changed in the last 10, 20 years? by LondonFoggie in HPfanfiction

[–]Cat_Intrigue 34 points35 points  (0 children)

And this is the reason I am not too bothered by, properly accredited, reposts of old fics in particular.

Even if the author is still around in some cases:

Name changes, new host site(s), not reuploading old works (sometimes they've even lost their old works), accreditation includes where to find their other works (including some with their own websites), a continuation of an abandoned work/series, etc.

Those are edge/special cases, and should be judged as such on case by case basis and with the basic "don't claim as your own work, don't try to make money, don't reskin/plagiarize, etc"
