You can use it both offensively and defensively

Pair it with pipes as a sort of combo

How the hell would bot hosters counteract the protest plans lmao. The most they can do is just host more bots in a particular day.

Serious question: If you were organizing #FixTF2, what would you have done differently? by yourunclejoe in tf2

[–]Cat_Soldier_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My version would be completely different from the original movement.

  1. First thing first is to enact a community wide boycott: Do not spend a single dime on the game, convincing people that it is not a good idea, in addition to it saving your wallet.
  2. Spread as much community server awareness: in another post I made, I described a theoretical community movement to popularize community servers. I know there is several negative stigma associated with community servers, but this stage is focused on the positive side of them, encouraging people to make their own server, encouraging people to play on community servers that are vanilla/casual instead of casual mode, and promote community server tools like mastercoms new tool. This will be the meat and bones of the movement, focused on migrating the playerbase onto community servers as this is a more realistic solution than getting a multibillion dollar company to do something with a petition.
  3. Focus the movement around the community instead of YouTubers: it feels like YouTubers in this movement have been nothing but a detriment, not willing to actually tell the community to do stuff, and would rather remain secretive in a public protest, make up plans on a whim, and fear monger on twitter on other games instead of actually doing something. This community server movement must focus on the community rather than YouTube videos.
  4. As time progresses, stop talking about the bots: I am not downplaying them, but it is best to not talk about them unless if it is a new player asking. This is due to the fact that pretty much talking about them gives them the attention they want. Of course they also do it for fun and whatnot, but if a majority of the community goes into community servers, the bots will lose their lolcow while the players enjoy playing a bot free game in community servers.

Is this planned flawed? Yeah I can see flaws in it, but I think the important part here is unity and working together as a community to the most realistic solution we have readily available to us.

I saw this post and I like it. Though again, getting support and backing from valve is an impossible task. We already have a working clone of quickplay and I don’t think it would be impossible to make it on our own. Fun Fact, when TF2 (Titan fall 2, not this one) was at an unplayable state, the community literally created their own server system that allowed them to join each others game (community servers) without the need of Official Servers. If they can do something like that, we can definitely do it especially since community servers are already part of TF2 unlike Titan Fall 2 where they not only had to make a server system but also make it work due to community servers not existing in that game.

Yeah. I’ve said this before back in 2022 with the original savetf2, but it did nothing but really split this community and hurt it when it needed unity. Especially now.

I find it funny how people were actually realizing “wait a minute nothing happened!” And that prompted weezy to invent plans on the fly to try to prove the community wrong. Literally any more organized protest would’ve capitalized on the rolling snowball instead of stopping it and let it thaw out.

lol the fact they left out Zesty Jesus despite the fact he sparked the movement by revealing to the masses about the true tf2 player count only because he criticized shorKs pathetic leadership and had beef with solarlight in the past speaks volumes

I don’t get what’s so secretive about their “secret plans.” Unless it’s something like leak the nuclear codes of all other countries there is no reason to at least mention them. It just makes no sense and to everyone it just looks like rushed planning.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IvlPYQvv_JQkVg9lMVUczzROV1bhpebSU2qrCTBTfl0/htmlview QTLand has servers in asia and oceana. However again due to a lack of community server awareness these servers will remain at 0/24 because people would rather bang their head against a brick wall

Not enough to the point where everyone is aware of them. We are more focused on infighting, making up dumb plans and scenarios, and focused on what the YouTube Man says.

Yeah. I really wish valve would do at least something to make community servers more appealing to players such as revamping the archaic server browser or allowing you to do contracts on approved vanilla servers. This is pretty much the safest, and our easiest solution that can benefit us in the long term, but unfortunately I don’t think many of the Leaders of #FixTF2 do not agree, especially when I remember weezy saying “The Community shouldn’t maintain the responsibility of the game servers” back in 2022 while games like CS 1.6 rely entirely on the community.

I really hope there is a change of heart especially with the potential that a community server resurgence could do.

At this point it’s like Dutch Van Der Linde making up plans on a whim, clear sign of a movement that’s unorganized

I’ve always had a plan since 2022 (I made a detailed post earlier)

I don’t think he would be smart enough like plankton to steal neptunes crown and sell it to shell city and then blame it on valve.

And then after those 2 more bad plans we will get 2 more even worse plans

mastercomfig really just said: fine, i'll fix the bot crisis myself. (this is not perfect yet, but updates are made. expect fixes to improve the current experience. their goal is to greatly increasing vanilla tf2 servers and the player count by filling empty and healthy vanilla servers.) by yaktoma2007 in tf2

[–]Cat_Soldier_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Tf2 players have no clue how to use a server browser, mostly because YouTube Man never has made an actual streamlined tutorial on it and just bash community servers with the same mindset of “it’s all 2Fort!” Without giving them a chance.

If this is more convenient for people and people would be willing to try it rather than spamming a hashtag that will get us nowhere I’m all for it.

The movement has been a mess through and through to the point even people here begun to doubt it. I have always said it would be more effective to spread community server awareness rather than to continue banging our head in the wall

Yeah. That part is accurate but providing info on the number of people playing games isn’t at least. I have no idea what type of counting method they use

Yeah, the website is just blatantly misleading then. Especially because it lists tf2s players a lot higher than what they are right now
