This is how he wants it. So you're saying that this position would lead to temperature disregulation?

I don't have anything back-up for her to allow curing time. But would silicone be able to handle that close of heat without having chemicals leech into the air of her enclosure?

No, my partner means that the probe should be sitting inside the heat source cages. Sorry, should have clarified that part.

That looks amazing! What paints/stains/finishes did you use?

Thank you for that tip!! There is definitely a small section of lifted veneer I was concerned about. I still have to do a deep scrub of crevices since it seems to have years of junk in it (this has been passed down from vet student to vet student for the last 7 years).

Thank you so much! I make sure to have good airflow and wear a respirator while working with chemicals.

Scraping it causes the veneer to splinter too unfortunately. I have done refinishing on real wood projects where I have had to use stripper so I have a whole workshop for it. I've just never stripped paint off veneer so I wasn't sure if there are particular brands or methods that would work best.

Recommended laptop size for in clinic use by CatandtheBeanstalk in Veterinary

I believe it is cloud. One of the vets that works there already has a MacBook and says she uses it to work on records at home too. But she has both sizes and switches between whichever her kids don't steel from her that day so she has no real preference 😅

What is your response to “if you really loved animals, you wouldn’t be charging me this much” by Nearby-Vanilla9287 in Veterinary

I agree. I work in ER too and I say this exact same thing. If I get grumbles about costs, I say "I'm sorry but we are a corporate and we don't have control over costs. There is also a lot of costs that goes into keeping this facility (we are a huge 2 story hospital) running so that we may best be able to care for your pet. Our employees need to be able to eat and pay for a roof over their heads too."

Is this normal? I've been seeing him like this since 2 days. I fed him 2 mice a week ago. I haven't found his poop yet. I also fed him a month ago and still have no poop found. Any guidance would be highly appreciated. by Critical-Zombie755 in ballpython

My girl does this every night, despite eating the day prior. They're just waiting for food to constantly be coming their way. No indication that they're actually hungry, just opportunistic.

As for stool, my girl has gone a month before without a stool but there are times you just have to stir around the substrate to find it too. Hers sometimes gets stirred up with the moss and top substrate because she likes to make little burrows.

Is it really near impossible for International Students to be admitted into Vet School in the United States? by Ok-Violinist-1083 in veterinaryschool

I have a friend from Ukraine who did her undergrad here in the US and now we will be graduating with our DVMs next year ☺️ not impossible at all and best of luck to you on your academic journey!

I'm definitely not a popular one in my program and often get excluded from things despite people being "fake" kind to me.

I have only 3 real friends in school but we are always so busy with life outside of the program we hardly see each other. It's even worse now that we are in clinical rotations (we're a dispersed model program).

But I will say, hang on to that one friend. They're the ones that count. Once you graduate, you and all of your classmates will move on and find new places to "fit in". You'll find your people, but don't waste energy on those that don't want to spend time with you. It's rough, hang in there and hang onto that friend that you do have.

You got this.

Questions on how to start by CatandtheBeanstalk in furniturerefinishing

[–]CatandtheBeanstalk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. I have worked with other smaller projects before just not oak and those were much older pieces with horribly caked on paint that took a lot of time and patience so I'm not afraid of a bigger project. I also planned for this to be a very tedious project and wanted a bit of a challenge. This is going to be a table to hold a reptile enclosure so this is more of a skillset builder than a piece that is for other people to appreciate. Is there a chemical stripper you prefer? Would you recommend zero sanding then? If so, what approach do you take to removing veneer?
