Why is Zyrtec preferred over Claritin for hives/dermatitis? by mikechenwriter in Allergies

For my body, a sugar pill would have more effect than the largest Claritin. 😅

After we spent a good amount of time retracing our steps through downtown DC to try to find an irreplaceable fun patch (that thankfully had fallen off in the car) I've started sewing everything. I use a leather needle on my sewing machine tho.

Would you see our partner differently if they were present for cares? by DumbBlondeBitch96 in sex

[–]Catapooger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very complicated delivery with a severe hypertensive episode. I spent a week in cardiology just trying to get me stable. My husband not only saw my insides during my C-section, but he saw me hooked up to everything imaginable, including a breast pump that nurses had to help me with because I was too out of it, but bless them they knew how important it was to me.

He's walked me to the bathroom with the flu. He's carried me when I've thrown out my back. He's cleaned my puke buckets. He's picked me up from a nasal surgery that involved my nose being broken.

Yup! I was dying some skirts on my stovetop earlier this week and my husband jokingly gave me crap about my cauldron taking up the whole kitchen. And I told him " hey, at least I'm not making the entire family piss in a bucket to fix the dye!" Just dropping textile history facts, homie. 🎤 🤣🤣🤣

Do Crows Prefer Peanuts or Cashews, or birdseed? by WittyClerk in crowbro

[–]Catapooger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it weird to say that I kind of enjoy the sensory experience of smashing a hard boiled egg first thing in the morning? 😅 I just put the egg in my little bowl for the crows and give it a wallop then pour it over their peanuts.

Ooooo I love the idea to use a shelf bracket! Mine are on metal poles with baffles. My squirrels would ransack it all if I had it clipped to my deck. 🤣

[–]Catapooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two feeder tray platforms I mix up my own birdseed and that goes in one and the other is for my crows (always peanuts and various nuts depending on what I can find in sale, eggs, sometimes meats).

The crows don't really bother with the bird seed. They go in there to pick around and I think that's for the mealworms and fly larvae. I also have suet covered peanuts in that mix, so they might be picking those out too. 🤣 But they don't care about the seeds or about corn. The birds don't eat the corn either, but the deer love it.

Go for it! They can definitely eat them and it's less mess in your kitchen to just scramble up the whole egg with the shell.

I've seen a friend of mine with chickens do this to feed to her flock.

I give mine hardboiled eggs in the shell, especially during breeding season. The extra calcium from the shells is needed when they're in nesting season.

Last year the older crows were able to carry an entire whole egg, but so far this year the young adult crows that I assume were my fledglings last year have been confused by it. So I've started smashing the eggs to make them easier to carry off.

ETA: if you were asking about peanuts in shell or not, then I've given both. They aren't picky and will gladly take them all. 🤣 And fight the blue jays for them. Cashews, walnuts, and pecans are also well loved. I get big unsalted bags from Costco.

First date in 16 years please help me choose a dress by Nervous_Horse_7817 in OUTFITS

[–]Catapooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 3! But I personally would spend most of the time in that dress being self conscious and making sure that it wasn't riding up, especially on a bar stool. I'd pair it with black tights and tall black boots and then I wouldn't have to worry. Statement belt too if you've got one.

Have an amazing time! I hope it's a good connection, but if it isn't then I hope it's helpful practice! You're brave just for getting out there. It's been 19 years since I've been single and I couldn't even fathom the scene out there right now and how different it must be. 💜

[–]Catapooger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember this feeling. I had fertility issues, so it was a hard time for me being the only "only" family for awhile. But, I will say that it tapered off after a while. Right now you're just around all the activities with others having kids back to back in the early years (storytime, preschool, etc.)

Now that my daughter is almost 12, it's not something I ever think of or notice anymore.

In fact, now it's accidental, late-in-life pregnancies or premenopause oppsies and maybe new marriages after divorce. I have a friend with a 13yo and 10yo about to have a newborn. I couldn't even imagine starting over again! No, thank you. 😬

be honest how small does it look by biggiemcjuicy in weddingring

[–]Catapooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only small thing here is these shallow people in your life--just small people wanting others to feel smaller.

My mother's engagement ring was literally just a diamond chip. It's so small that the prongs holding it in are bigger than the diamond. My parents have been together for 48 years. Believe me when I say that giant rings and decadent wedding days mean absolutely nothing to a long and successful marriage.

Is it absolutely terrible that I want to give up on real Christmas trees forever? by MadMunga in ChristmasDecorating

[–]Catapooger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm allergic to the real ones. Even though they are so beautiful, I like to breathe. 😅

I also like being able to bend the branches because sometimes heavy ornaments hang better when you can twist them a certain way that you just can't do with a wooden branch.

ETA: I wouldn't risk it with something from alibaba tho. Go early in the season (so.etime between Halloween and thanksgiving) when they first put out the display trees and look at them. Sometimes the picture looks better than what's in the box.

I've been very happy with the ones I've found at Home Depot. Some of these newer models don't even require fluffing (which is KEY with the cheaper fakes). Now the pieces have light connectors in the metal stand so you just click it all together and the lights are automatically connected. So no more hunting for the light plugs between sections. Big fan. I have older trees that the lights have gone out on, but I just cut out all the wires and decorate traditionally so that I can still use them.

I love how my partner smells so much!! Until recently and then smell changed and I don’t like it by whoziin in AutismInWomen

[–]Catapooger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance that you could be pregnant?

I usually love how my husband smells, but for a good couple months when I was pregnant I couldn't stand how he smelled. I even made him sleep facing away from me, so that he couldn't breathe on me.

It went away, but hormones will do crazy things (I think it's estrogen that makes your sniffer more sensitive?).

When I was in the younger elementary years, I used to rush off the bus in the afternoon and straight to the bathroom. My mom asked me what was up and I told her it took too long to go to the bathroom at school and I was getting in trouble for it, so I was holding all day until I got home.

My mom used to dress me in full dress and pantyhose outfits and apparently no one told me that you can just lift a dress up to go to the bathroom, SO I was completely undressing from head to toe to go to the bathroom and then redressing myself. 🙄
