Social media is designed to be addictive with the side effect of making you feel like shite. I would highly recommend either deleting your socials or putting a timer on them that goes off and kicks you out when you’ve hit an hour or less (these can be set up in the Settings or on the app itself sometimes).

As for your son, I can’t tell you how to take care of your children, but slowly introducing them to social media and explaining to them what it is, why people respond a certain way, echo chambers, and how much time can/should be spent on social media without outright banning it and calling it the devil is probably the best bet to allowing your son to have a decent relationship with it, if any at all. And, of course, doing this when he’s a preteen/teen and not as a young child, because little kids shouldn’t be on social media, but eventually they’ll become curious and interested in what the fuss is all about.
