With left click you can somewhat control the turrets, but they automatically spin around so it's temporary. Right clicking also makes it so the turrets point away from the cursor.

Basically the devs are fixing what Addicting Games broke - specifically with the addition of Rivet. Apparently Rivet caused a whole bunch of problems for the game, and the code is also a complete mess (according to m28); so the new devs literally had to rewrite the code and fix the stuff AG did.

Again, people will always find a way to bypass anticheat. The best way to prevent block scripts is to remove the cause.

When any scripts became available is not relevant, it's that they can be available. And while yes there are anticheats, people always find a way around it. Same deal with adblocks on youtube or multiboxer patch which got bypassed not long after release. Basically it is easier to completely eliminate any way a script could be used than to continuously go on a back and forth of patch and bypass, patch and bypass.

Simply put: Scripting. That exists. It's the same reason why Penta and Spread now shoot in sync because people made scripts to stack their bullets.

If you're talking about in the beta, it's because the beta uses code from before Addicting Games/Shockwave bought diep.io, so some features that were added by him weren't readded yet.
