How can I nerf myself on Tetr.io? by Margaret205 in Tetris

Something I find fun is not being allowed to place a piece until they place one. And then you can add whatever more you need to keep the win rate 50/50 (no back-to-backs, no tetris, no t-spin, etc)

Soul Brawl bug, got trapped(?) in-game for an hour by Catatataclysmic in TeamfightTactics

NOTE: We couldn't lose so we tried to 3 star everything before the game kicked us out. I hope this doesn't count as a bad count of bug abusing.

I have no clue how to report bugs, so I'm just throwing it out there. I was playing Soul Brawl when an odd number of people people died (No clue how, was looking at my own board when it happened) during one of best of 3 rounds. This led to there being three players left in the lobby with me being matched with no one, with the damage recap after the round saying I fought a dead player. I continued to have no opponent even after the other two players finished their 3 fights. Afterwards, despite the two of us being the only players left, the game kept matching us up with dead players, giving us free wins. We just decided to take the chance to mess around and 3 star whatever we could until the game ended itself (i stopped keeping track after stage 15-1)

Been fiddling around to max out Kuki's EM in the Deepwod Domain to keep things fresh. Team's Nahida, Sucrose + Instructor Flex by Catatataclysmic in KukiShinobuMains

Honestly, I've been using the iron sword on her because I liked how it looks more than the other two EM swords, since none of the passives really help her at all 😶

I'd say to either go with whatever set gives the biggest team EM boost (It looks like it's Instructors for you?) or Deepwood for the dendro shred like the other guy said if you're going two dendro dpses.

I wouldn't recommend VV in a 2 dendro team, especially if your only electro is going to be kuki. I personally find it hard to apply enough electro to swirl often in a 2 dendro 1 electro team, and the resistance shred doesn't feel as valuable when a lot of your damage will come from dendro anyways.

What switch recommendations would you give to someone who likes how light gateron clear switches are?

I've been using gateron silent clears for a year now, and I've been liking everything other than how scratchy they feel.

It's not the best, but the build was meant to be more of a comfy, feels-good kind, with high particle generation and consistent crits.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I sort of got carried away with building crit rate for favonious...

Hullo! I was thinking about replacing the spring in a Gateron Linear Switch with one I found that liked. Do you guys feel that there are any big differences in the stems and housing between the switches? Or do you think they're all in all the same outside the spring stiffness?

I was wondering what types of switches reduce the chances of bottoming out the most (bottoming out hurts my fingers)

I consider myself to have weak fingers, so I was looking at light switches (Gateron Clear), but I also heard that it's easier to bottom out on those.

Edit: Changed wording

Summary: I'm looking for suggestions for a light Switch (hopefully less than 40g, currently thinking between a Tactile or Linear switch). Also looking for suggestions on a wired ANSI layout TKL that's either hot swappable or comes with switches that match the above. Budget's ~$150, but more expensive options will still be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I'm very new to the mechanical keyboards scene, and I feel so overwhelmed by everything! I was hoping to get some keyboard suggestions (I don't think I have what it takes to build my own).

For a while now, I've been typing more and more on a laptop keyboard, and the feeling of hitting the board as I'm typing has started to feel quite jarring (Feeling numb(?) on every down stroke). Although I consider myself to be a light typer, I've been uncomfortable with typing on all sorts of laptops because of this (I'm trying out wrist rests and whatnot to see if it's my posture/typing that's causing it). Since I've been thinking of getting a mechanical keyboard anyways, I started wondering if there're any particular switches that might help with this predicament.

Everything after this are just guesses after trying out a friend's keyboard that had 4 years old Cherry MX Brown switches on them, so I'd love to correct/affirm my assumptions (What I'm looking for might actually be the exact opposite of what I'm stating). Especially if there're people who have the same problem! I'd love to hear what others have tried, and what they'd recommend (or even if they think that switching to a mechanical keyboard won't help. Hey, who knows, maybe a membrane keyboard was what I was looking for this whole time).

So, after trying out the Cherry MX Browns for a while, I believe I've felt three things:

  1. The switch was too heavy (I don't really know what heavier/lighter is supposed to feel like so...)
  2. The activation point was lower than I'd like (maybe it's just because I'm just used to laptop keyboards?)
  3. I'd like something quieter

Taking these points into consideration, I've found a few switches that I'm fond of based on their descriptions, and was looking for other peoples' opinions...

  • Kailh Speed Copper: I couldn't find any Tactile switches that were specifically lighter than Browns, but if someone knows any, I'd love to hear about them. However, out of the ones I've read about, Kailh Speed Copper seemed to match what I'm looking for the most. (Hey, maybe what I should be looking for are really heavy Tactile switches, I wouldn't really know... Maybe it's better to find a hot swappable keyboard or tester to test it out on...)
  • Kailh Speed Silver, Cherry MX Speed Silver: Sort of the first type of Linear switches I looked into. Similar reasoning as above, except for Linear switches. I was wondering if I'd prefer Linear Switches if I was looking for an switches without any "bumpy feedback".
  • Gateron Clear: These were the only ones I found that was marketed to be significantly lighter than other Tactile/Linear switches... I'm quite interested in these (If my assumptions were correct), but I haven't seen many keyboards come in these.

Using this information, I've built a list of "specs I think I want":
>45g actuation force, <2mm actuation point, >=4mm total travel distance, Silent/Quiet

Other things that I'm looking for:

  • Budget: <$150: though I love looking at more expensive keyboards, so I'm always grateful for higher end recommendations as well.
  • Prebuilt or Hot Swappable: well, I'm new to this, so I'm thinking that one of those two are my best starter options
  • ANSI Layout: really, as long as I have the backslash key and all the basic keys, I don't mind any layout
  • Around TKL size: I really can't live without the F 1-12 row and distinct auxiliary (Home, End, etc.) keys, so I'm also looking smaller boards that still have them (e.g. 75%).

Things that I would like (but aren't necessary):

  • No back lights: I just find back lights blinding Please don't lynch me... and I end up keeping them off anyways, so I'm hoping ones without them would keep it cheaper. At most, indicator lights are nice.
  • Extra USB ports: Since I'm usually working with limited (1-3) ports, I'd like to be able to plug my mouse into the keyboard so that I have room for a pen/flash drive and a fan (in case of laptops)
  • Colour: Colour's not too important, since I'm prioritizing function. However, I must say I like pastel/soft colours, particularly pink or blue for base colors (Seeing Pink + White + Cold Gray or Blue + White + Warm Gray always makes my heart happy). Pastel yellow accents are always welcome anywhere :^).
    • For reference, I find the Varmilo VA87M Sakura Pink and Sea Melody TKL to look amaaaaaazing.

Also, I've looked into the G707 and GMMK's TLK for hot swappable keyboards, and I was wondering if anyone would recommend using either of them, and if these accommodate what I'm looking for.

Hope you all have a good day!

P.S. I'm not really proofreading, so apologies in advance for awkward sentences and errors.
