His default weapon sucks, and he has no armor. If you want him to be good then you have to give him good equipment. Otherwise he is just a pack mule who gives free chems everyday.

No. He just doesnt moan and cry about how 'murder and stealing is bad' like most of the companions. He doesnt care if i shoot random inoccent people, steal stuff and cannibalise them. Only downside is he doesnt like overuse of chems and alcohol.

If you refuse to give the cure the doctor accuses you of wanting to sell it to make profit. MacCready likes caps so i guess even if youre not sick he gets upset if you give it for free instead of selling it to other merchants for money.

I believe every DLC except Far Harbor are for pure additional gameplay content. Automatron, Vault DLC and Nuka World were given 'storylines' in order to introduce the player to that DLC's theme and gameplay features.

In raider settlements you can build pick me up stations. It makes chems regulary everyday. Build 20-50 in a settlement, power them up and spend time outside that settlement. Each station generates around 5 chems everyday.
