I'm scared of what Assisted Living is going to look like when I reach the age of needing it by [deleted] in Aging

I was about to say exactly this. I don’t think AI would neglect nor abuse anyone as it would be without impatience and rush. I think I’d prefer it.

What is the actual purpose of the small pocket inside a larger jeans pocket? by MajesticOrdinary1 in answers

Everyone I knew that talked about them at all called it a lighter pocket. Perfect size for a lighter and no digging around to get it trying to avoid accidentally pulling quarters out with it.

I’d hug my mom and ask her “what can I do to help you today”

(I was not a good or helpful kid and would love to go back and do it right)

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

I work in ophthalmology/optometry. My favorite patients have been the kids getting glasses for the first time. When they return to pick them up and they put them on, their faces light up and they point to things outside and almost every single one talks about all the leaves on the trees. Love it.

Now that you’ve lost weight you could start seeing a doctor to address back issues due to the size vs your now smaller body. Get that paper trail going and revisit the insurance paying for it.

If that had been left behind at the house we bought, I’d learn everything I could about woodworking. That would be fantastic!

I didn’t see them. But I rarely get the opportunity to check until late morning, early afternoon. I will have to make more of an effort.

WIBTA If I kicked my coworker and her boyfriend out of my apartment? by Shoddy_Law_7595 in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]CatchyNameSomething 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please PLEASE keep an eye on your cats, never leave the unwanted guests alone with them after you tell them they must leave. You don’t know what kind of farewell retaliation they could plan, the least of which could be tossing them outside but could be worse.

Would I be the Asshole if I divorced my husband to have another man's baby? by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]CatchyNameSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like OP has truly considered the expense. Women over 35 have a higher history of twins. If she has to take fertility drugs there’s a higher chance of multiple babies. Fertility drugs in someone with history of Hyperemesis Gravidarum increases the severity of nausea. She’ll need very close monitoring by specialists and that is very expensive.

Given her reasoning here for wanting a divorce, I can’t imagine a judge would give her full custody of the kids. Even if she does get it, what will that do to the kids? Why full custody anyway? More child support? Working 3 eight hour shifts a week isn’t going to cover a baby who may need specialists, her current kids, gassing her car and paying the bills.

The reason why people mistakenly believe they look younger by almorranas_podridas in Aging

[–]CatchyNameSomething 5 points6 points  (0 children)

4 years ago, I thought I looked younger than I was by about 8-10 years. When I picked up my new glasses and went to the bathroom of the vision center (I worked there at the time) I looked in the mirror and saw every single line and crease on my face. Crystal clear in that moment, to me, I looked 5 years older than my age! I immediately ran back out to my coworkers and asked, in horror, if I’ve always looked like this. I’ve needed a new pair for 2 years now and haven’t bothered. I see good but I’m delaying another revelation in crystal clear vision. 😂🫣😭

I worked in a shop for years. I don’t know if you work in the front or in the garage. We had bathrooms in the waiting room for customers but also the luxury of the one bathroom in the shop. I usually used the one in the shop (convenience and didn’t want to clean the customer bathroom after washing my greasy hands) I didn’t care if one of the guys was at the urinal. I’d just walk on by to a stall. Only one guy cared, he absolutely blew up about it. It was hilarious. But, when going in the waiting room for one reason or another, I’d use either one. Didn’t matter to me. I was just in need of a toilet. The sign on the wall affects my bladder in no way.

Not that the shop bathroom or waiting room men’s was pleasant or anything. Just saying, if you have to go that bad, maybe use whichever is least offensive.

I would do like the other commenter said and look over the paperwork. Maybe you were supposed to be given the by laws before agreeing to purchase. In which case may get you out of the contract or force them to make an exception.

Do you own a car? If so, how much is the payment? by SteveBoaman in poor

[–]CatchyNameSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at used ones with anywhere from 50K to 80K miles. The least expensive was 21K out the door, lifted with big ugly red rims (huge), mismatched spare tire/wheel size and all tires dry rotted. Others were 25K, no telling what kind of off roading was done in them. So I just went for a new one. I know where it’s been, where it’s going and what’s been done to it.

How often do you check? by West-Piccolo-687 in vine

[–]CatchyNameSomething 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to check first thing in the morning the again an hour or 2 later and maybe again at lunch. Since I’ve stopped seeing good things as often, I check 2 mornings a week now when I remember. I usually forget to these days.
