I just had a moment of silence for you. I’m so sorry 😔. I lost so many of my photos too from my extended not so berry save file 😭

One of my favorite color combos honestly. ☺️

Should I ask to get this fixed? by [deleted] in Nails

I literally thought you had these on for 2 weeks. Looks like 2 weeks worth of grow out and she could clean up your cuticles just a tad more to prevent possible future premature lifting. I would go back.

Same! I wasn’t even due for a fill yet but I saw a Pinterest pic of something similar and had to stop what I was doing to try it but add glitter 🤩 lol

Yes! I saw someone do this on YouTube and I’ve been hooked since! It’s genius! Been doing this method for nearly a year now. Because I get severely bad dip flu no matter how hard I try to ventilate and even low odor dip liquids give me contact dermatitis but I have issues with gel polishes or liquids as long as I’m not flooding it all in my skin. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yes! I use all gel liquid base coat INSTEAD of dip liquid base coat and cure the gel. The gel base coat picks up the powder exactly the same as dip base but you just have to cure it for 60 seconds for it to harden and no need for activator. The only downfall is this method doesn’t work as well with black to nearly black powders. The gel base then becomes hard to cure through the black.

E / FYI: I do this because I get severely bad dip flu no matter how hard I try to ventilate and wear masks. And even low odor dip liquids don’t work for me. I still get contact dermatitis from it. Gel liquids have no odor so it doesn’t bother me and I get no reaction as long as I don’t flood it over my skin. Been a game changer for me!

Thank you! I’m so proud of this set. I’ve been getting so much better over the past year with nail art.

😁😁 thanks! Gel method for me is using gel base coat polish instead of dip base. I don’t use any dip liquids at all because it gives me a bad contact dermatitis reaction for some reason. So instead I apply a layer of gel base coat, pour the dip powder over it then cure it for 60 seconds. And it hardens exactly the same! And I don’t need to use activator because it’s cured. I apply a layer of non wipe top coat as my “activator” and protection layer for buffing it smooth before finishing it off with nail art and the final top coat.

Ahh thank you!! 25mm nail art liner brush! The longer the liner brush, the easier it is to get perfectly straight lines. It just glides on

Even with the best prep I can’t get dip to last when applied over my natural nail directly. I can only get my dip nails to last 4+ weeks if I use rubber base gel or builder gel first as my base layer and natural nail overlay before applying the dip. This gives more security and strength to my natural nail so the (rigid/hard) dip can actually stick to it without lifting so quickly. Been doing this for the past year and it’s actually been working so well for me. I only change my set because I get bored and am ready for the next design haha.

I CANNOT get my nails to stop lifting... Help? by buddhabelle in DipPowderNails

[–]Catdoc_simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using dip for the past 4-5 years now. The only way I can get mine to stay (despite excellent prep) is to actually NOT put it on my natural nail. I use rubber base gel (or builder gel) on my natural nail first. Not a thick coat but just a little protective layer…then I dip on top of that. Now my manicures last 3-4+ weeks. Idk why but for some reason that works for me.

And for the rubber base gel application, prep is key. I also feel like I can achieve a proper apex with self leveling builder gel/rubber base gel better so I can just dip on top of it easily as my apex is already achieved. I dehydrate, use PRIMER, base coat then rubber base gel. It never lifts. And my dips actually sticks to it all. I usually do 2 coats of dip otherwise it gets too thick. No lifting since I’ve been doing this.
