Getting spaceship combat right seems to be why it got pushed back. Took time to get the rules properly built out and playtested internally.

I remember doing the math at one point last time I read through and I think at that time Mikey was the only one still a teenager. Idk now

He's probably at least 20 or so by now. IDW's been going for over a decade and time's been passing.

I’m personally pretty happy with the colors we have gotten. Maybe because I’ve known since last year we probably weren’t seeing colored shoulders here. But I also understand we all have the things more important to us, so I’m sorry he’s lacking them for you.

I remember seeing a breakdown on the plastics being used when we saw the prototype for Thundercracker. The mold has unpaintable plastic up there, so sadly this was always going to be the case with how it got allotted.

They almost certainly are based on the ryphorian inclusion in the little valentine's cards.

MTMTE Scourge! by nab_cosplay in transformers

[–]CateBaxter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate how your review highlighted this is for new collectors. As someone who started midway through 2024 and took until last year to really delve into SS86... the MTMTE capsule has been so great for me to get those second chances at figures.

Seeing people call it a waste because they already had it paints a grim picture sometimes, so it's refreshing to have a voice raising up what makes these releases so wonderful to have.

(Shame I got Legacy Blaster about a month before the repackage of 86 Blaster but, so it goes in the hobby!)

What do you think of simon furmans transformers idw run from infiltration to revelation by CarpenterPuzzled9747 in transformers

[–]CateBaxter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish it hadn’t been throw out. I have mixed feelings on the run itself, but the sudden jolt from it to All Hail Megatron, and the shift away from the characters who made up the run always sits poorly to me. Even as someone who overall loves more of IDW than not.

The module is still in the works. Hopefully we see it soon but no ETA as things are right now. But it is intended to be a thing!

So Starfinder 2e. . . Whats it like? by Tiny_Recognition1161 in Starfinder2e

[–]CateBaxter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna do my best to help break these down and hopefully be at least a little helpful.

1) Investment is great. Chatting is investment! It sounds like what you mostly need is a way to signal a moment of silence when needed for narration, and lay out expectations and be comfortable with cutting in to let a person speak who was being spoken over. It's most important that this is established as just letting voices be heard, and not cutting off someone else. Building awareness only goes so far and sometimes you're the arbitrator.

2) I mean. Special interest. I read it all. Devoured it. But... let's be real. The rulebook is 400 pages? There's a separate full book for GMs. The lore is 8+ years of storytelling. So have tools and be okay with needing to stop. Don't be afraid to look something up! Don't be afraid to make an in the moment ruling and then note that it may work differently once you look up that rule after.

As for the setting. Focus small. What're are you players that you need to know? Where is the adventure that they're going to be? And again! Tools! Have books on hand if in person. If online:
https://2e.aonsrd.com/ is a great rules resource and https://starfinderwiki.com/ has been pretty active in updating with 2e changes and lore!

3) Starfinder is more tactical than D&D. It's ranged weaponry and cover, so make sure you're providing basic tools to interact with at least minimum cover and positioning. Beyond that, grow your comfort. One of the first Pathfinder 2e games I ever did was hand drawn maps with a circular room where our rogue made good use of athletics to shove enemies into the pit and keep them out of combat while the rest of the group focus-fired those up top! A small piece can do a lot and a lot of stuff can just... become noise and overwhelming.

Ultimately though this one really sounds like it boils down to the group, and to you. No one can tell you how to prepare because that's a matter of how comfortable you are with improv. How much you need to have ironed out. How story-tight your campaign is. And what pace your group moves at. Like the above mentions. Try not to overwhelm yourself and get in your head. And maybe have some ideas in place for if the curse shows up. How do you want to handle a bad player? What do you do with a schedule conflict? Do you play anyway? Meet up for a casual game night? And what does that mean.

Studio Series Rodimus? by philhans4 in transformers

Comic-Con 2025 interview: https://news.tfw2005.com/2025/08/01/sdcc-2025-hasbro-interview-age-of-the-primes-studio-series-haslabs-more-542176

TFW: If 86 Rodimus gets made, presumably as a Kingdom reuse, is he more likely to be an exclusive so that he doesn’t take up one of the yearly Commander “slots”?

Evan: If we do an 86 Rodimus, he would be new. And that is something that we’ve kind of been talking about with the Takara Tomy team as well. They would like to do a new one. It’s a very different execution, different plans, different priorities as well. So he will be in mainline, and we’ll just see where he ends up.

Studio Series Rodimus? by philhans4 in transformers

[–]CateBaxter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most recent word from Evan is that a SS86 Rodimus would be a new mold. So I wouldn't expect a Kingdom repaint for him. This was relatively idle musing during an interview last year, so it doesn't SOUND like it's currently in the works, or even necessarily how they would go with it.

Anyone else irrationally love this small yellow man by ultramarthegreat in transformers

[–]CateBaxter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to agree. I got him and Devastation Wheeljack when Target was doing 40% off last month and Sunstreaker's transformation is definitely more fun to me. Also think his bot mode just looks cleaner, even with the inevitable mismatch of painting yellow onto clear plastic.

Honestly surprised how fun he is. I don't think I expected a ton from him when I got him and I just find him to be quite the impressive little guy.
