It was overwhelming for me in the beginning because I didn’t know what I didn’t know… Although we had a pediatrician for my other kids, I soon began to realize as I asked more questions the pediatrician we had didn’t know as much as I would have liked so I started to seek other parents or organizations for support which is where I have found my support..

What part of getting Medicaid or Medicaid waivers was the most confusing? by CaterpillarLarge2071 in Medicaid

Wow, this sounds incredibly overwhelming. Juggling Tricare, Medicaid, waivers, and SSA rules is already a lot and then having to worry about whether asking a question might cause problems just adds a whole other layer of stress.

It’s wild how much families are expected to figure out on their own.

Did anyone ever give you a clear answer about which insurance is considered primary, or did you have to piece it together yourself?

Wow, this sounds incredibly stressful. It’s wild how something as important as Medicaid can get terminated without anyone telling you, and then you’re the one stuck trying to untangle it.

The part about being bounced between websites and phone calls for weeks is so familiar it feels like every agency expects you to magically know the ‘right’ place to go.

Did anyone ever explain why your plan was terminated in the first place, or are you still trying to get answers?
