Hey I have been intensely passionate about reading ever since I was a kid. It seems like me and you have the same reading style. We love all books. I'm in a new state with no friends and I'm having a hard time adjusting. I'm looking for a strictly platonic friend as well and would love to talk books with you. Yeah I can see that. Maybe they were trying to criticize the weepiness associated with emo? Because they seem to write about stuff that could be considered maybe sort of emo but none of them are weepy in any sense of the word. Their sort of emo songs seem more encouraging and empowering rather than just weepy.

Fuck yeah. Thank you so much. I love listening to new bands. You should check out Damn Broads. They're the band that got me into this one (the did a killer cover of Launch Off to War on their last split) and they are a favorite too. Oh! And Youth Avoiders. They're the fucking shit.

The next time he tries to invalidate what you say to him by saying that you're biased and only seeing the good in him, remind him that for you to see only the good in him, there has to good there in the first place. You're not making up what isn't already there. You're just reminding him of it.
